What is the longest ever you have had or seen a computer work for?

I found on the paper work for mine how old it is fixing to be. It shows the order date for it was June 30, 2002. Which means it probably arrived sometime in July. Only other thing is that the A Drive is not as old as the rest of the computer because it had to be replaced due to not working.

I replaced a 12 year old one with this one in April of last year. The old one was still running pretty much 'okay', but was extremely slow and too hard to get parts for without me having to modify them.

I have a Commodore 64 in working condition that I still turn on every now and then that I used to play games on when I was younger.

My dad has a TI 99/4A with the expansion box that still works and is mine once I get out of school and settled into a place I will be at long term.

We've had our current computer 7 years and it still works well. I'm guessing that's the longest.

Not long at all, I think the only one was the old laptop which has just been sidelined after 4 years use, and was 6 years old before I had it. It still should work once the connection issues are fixed but has slowed considerably in the last year to almost full stop. All my other PCs blew within a few years except the oldest ones which ran out of memory first and were part exchanged.

The one I'm on now is about four years old and that's the oldest I think. It's still oging fine but I'd love a new one but need to wait for this one to die before I can do that.

Yeah, when it quits "oging" you know you're in big trouble! (Couldn't help myself...)

LOL Amy. Funny you should mention the "A" drive. I currently have a computer I built that is using the a: drive of my original first purchase of a computer in '95. I built a computer in '97 that is still working. As a matter of fact that machine is acting as a server for our automated trivia and 24/7 radio stream. I've only purchased (with exception to laptops) a computer once. Ever since I've opted to build my own. It's fun, rewarding, you get what you want and it's like electronic legos .

P.S. I inherited an old IBM SCSI machine that can only handle Windows 95 as the latest OS. It still works but I'm not sure of how old it is. I am pretty sure it dates at least back to the late '80's or early 90's before Win 95.

The longest that I have actually used a computer is about seven years. I still have the computer--a 600 MHz Intel Celeron with 15 GB and 40 GB hard drives--but I recently retired it after building something a little more robust.

The oldest computer that I have is an Atari 400 that I bought from my first job--managing a soda machine at my dad's garage--almost 25 years ago. It still works, but I need to order one of those elephantine AC adapters off eBay to power it.
