Drat. I wish we got the UK version (we're stuck with the US one - with [blech] David Hasselhof on it)! I suspect the format's mostly the same, though? Despite the circus-like atmosphere of some of those contestants, I really enjoy what the show tries to do - looking for odd, hard-to-fit-into-rigid-categories talent. Last year, for example, an almost-winner over here was a "rap-singing granny" (she was so fun!) and the eventual winner was a ventriloquist! They'd have likely never been discovered were it not for the program !

I couldn't make my mind up at - so many good acts. I loved them all, particularly Faryl and eScala who will surely have record deals. I also loved Signature and Gin the dog was amazing. Even the two dancing children (normally reaching for sick bucket ... ) were cute. Any one of them deserved to win, but I do think George stole the show!

I missed most of it this time round. I loved the first series, but I'm afraid cynicism had well and truly kicked in by this series. On the couple of shows I did watch, I got a little fed up with seeing all the bad acts, and very few of the good ones. They'd just run a montage of people who got through, you didn't see much of their acts. That is, apart from the last one on - a sob story and then an amazing act. I also felt that the audience were being incited to behave badly - I don't remember the "thumbs down" and the chanting of "off, off, off" so much on the first series. I really enjoyed the weird and eccentric ones!
If I'd have watched it, I'd have voted for the one who didn't have a sob story, I got a little fed up with that during the last X-factor.
Obviously there is a lot of fixing and pre-selection on these shows. Ben Elton's "Chart Throb" is cynical story about how this could be achieved - a very good read but it's kind of taken the gloss off these shows for me.
I do hope that the finalists get a career boost from the show though, there is no doubt that talent is needed to get that far.

well this show could be improved by getting rid of simon cowell his comments at times were sould destroying for some of the acts.
Ws pleased that George won the lad was amazing, Although i liked Gin the dog.
Although i have to say last night i stayed with bbc for i'll do anything. And Jodie who won was outstanding

I rather like Simon Cowell too and think that he is (sometimes) brutally honest with no hopers... better to have a reality check now, rather than spend years trying and being rejected.
Still prefer Jessie for the role of Nancy - think that Jodie was brilliant and would be an absolute natural for Hairspray and that the lovely ~Samantha would make a super Maria in West Side Story - whilst not a Nancy, she was I think the best all round talent with a great future. Missed both finals due to being out last night, but could see them on the big screen in the adjacent room - very frustrating!

I normally agree with Simon Cowell but not this time. I didn't share his enthusiasm for George Sampson. It must be me though because the lad did get voted the winner. Faryl Smith, eScala and the girl with the dancing dog were all better in my opinion.

eScala were fantastic, Signature were great but George was superb !! I think he performed better in the Semi-Finals, but than again, it was the first time everyone had seen that routine and it is a brilliant routine. George in my opinion is the only act that if he hadn't won it, than that would have been it. All of the singers and eScala will probably get signed up by Simon and as for Signature, they both have jobs and are doing well in life (probably...unlike George). Also, Signature's act was the same as the audition without the suprise, which made it a great performance but not in the Final, (semi's were better).
Well done to all of the finalists and I'm glad George won it !!

I am not one for reality shows - and never texted/phoned in for anyone to win. But seeming Oliver is one of my (many!) favourite musicals. particularly the part of Nancy, I think Jodie was the right choice. And quite right, Nancy was no stick insect (I don't think!) Didn't watch all of Britians Got Talent but I was also impressed with the dancing dog, and the two little kiddies, Cheeky Monkeys. I am sure all the young singers will have a record contract very soon

Looks as if I am in the minority when I say HAD Gin won then it would be a poor do. Actually there are quite a number of dogs who do exactly the same type of thing, it is even part of Crufts to have these dancing dogs, it is down to training. You can see more of this on this website... http://www.dancingdogs.co.uk/
