Your Christmas card is great DG - very fun! Hi Gary, i like your chrome, to me it almost looks like glass and dripping icicles. It is neat how one can change completely an original photo to be something else completely.

This image doesn't have any photographic content. It was drawn line by line quite a while ago using the CorelDraw art package. I recently opened it in Xara Xtreme and added more contours. This item is hanging on the wall and the drawing is just a copy of it. I'm fairly pleased but might do further work to give the glass some reflection:

Gosh TW. You are far more ambitious than I am. About as far as I would go is a digital click! (-8

That's beautiful work, tw. I can't believe you did that line by line.

I messed around with the hue in IrfanView to make this picture blue and white and added the text.

This is a picture of our front yard light sporting the first real snow of the winter. I used some of the watercolor artistic effects in photoshop to create another candidate for Christmas cards.

I have my photo hosting site set for forum size images but the above seems a bit large. If it is taking up too much space, let me know and I will try re-importing into Image Shack.

I never thought about using filters on photos to create artistic cards and messages but a very good idea. The ones shown here look as good as some seen for sale in the shops.

The image size is OK Tredici.

Telly - In our local "Office Depots" in the specialty paper section they have designed either quarter or half fold cards complete with the correct envelope size. I watch for sales or coupon deals and then stock up. People seem to really enjoy getting a card with the original artwork. Last summer my Mom's neighbor wanted me to take pictures of a bouquet of sunflowers she had been given. When her 80th birthday rolled around I used one of the pix to make her a card. She really loved it so it's a nice way to make something special and personalized.

That's beautiful Tredici. It would make a great card.

Here is a shot of the river falls modified in a program called, strangely enough, "Photo to Cartoon." It is very easy to use.

DG and Tredici, I am just blown away by how beautiful your photos-to-cards turned out. They're wonderful! I have been searching through all my photos trying to find one suitable enough to try my hand at converting.

The Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square, London, is an annual present from the people of Norway, to acknowledge Britain's support during World War II.

Nice looking old train, Tredici.
And I like the Trafalgar Square picture, picqero. I wonder if you added the snow effect or if was actually snowing. Its nice.

No wonder they didn't do well against the Patriots -- they're hanging out in South Dakota...

Very cool pic!

Hi Gary, the snow was added, and is part of the special effects. Also the image was deliberately blurred, and the purple-ish halo around the edges was added!
Glad you liked it

Lovely work everyone. Trafalgar is marvelous Piquero, made me smile.

Very nice pic, Shellie. I like the way the detail is sparser in the corners.

This was done in paint.net. Its an effect called "polar inversion."

Mc shellsie -- that's so pretty -- looks like a charcoal drawing.

What a great idea for a gift, Tredici.
