my daughter has been given the challenge of finding a national flag which doe's not have the colours of the olympic flag.
so can not have -- green,red,blue,black,yellow,white.
anyone out there who can help?
or can anyone help with which flags have all 6 colours in them...

Have done a quick search for her but can't find any flag that doesn't have at least one of the colours. However the flag of South Africa (which I really like) has all of them. Hope that helps.

I always understood that is why those colours are in the Olympic flag, because they are in every flag. I wonder if it could be a 'new' nation.

So basically the only colours allowed are orange, brown and purple


Here are some candidates:

Bhutan: Is mainly two shades of orange, the dragon can be (with some imagination) described as greyish.
Qatar: Assuming that the white doesn't count, this flag is just brownish.
Vatican City: Looks like Yellow and White, but officially (long heraldic history) it is Gold and Silver.

I will think some more on this.

Sue, I believe the flag colors were the six colors that appeared on all the national flags of the world at the time it was designed, which was in 1931.

That makes sense.

Talking of Olympics, I once visited the old Olympia, the stadium is tiny.
