That is a wonderful picture, Jane. Kate, Not just the jackets, but long pants, shoes, and socks too! It makes me feel warmer just seeing that.

Thanks so much Gats for posting the picture. I must say you do look very spiffy.I am more than relieved that the sweater fits OK, that was my main worry. These photos are so interesting, It is great to see all my fave people and their families and friends. What a great idea for a thread!

I don't "do" hot weather really - at least you can put more layers on when the weather is cold It was really a lovely day out

Last Saturday I attended a theme dinner with the Sherlock Holmes Society. It was at an Indian restaurant so some of the ladies wore saris. This photo is of my friend and me in our saris - I'm the taller one on the right.

Oh Ella, the mask looks so good on you, better than just the pic we saw of it alone and I love the style of your dress! MG, wonderful photo and what a neat thing to do. Did you buy your sari or make it?

Thanks for the compliments on the sari. Yes, I made it myself.
There is a fabric store near where I live where you buy the sari fabric in lengths, with the beading already attached, but you have to hem the ends up to stop it fraying. Although the fabrics are lovely, the beads are only tacked on and poorly so at that, so I painstakingly resewed every one of them securely.
I also had to make the top and a long skirt to wear underneath as this particular fabric is see-through. Although you can't see it very well, the beads on the sari are purple and orange. I couldn't find the right shade of purple for the top, so I went with orange instead.

"I love op shops." Here, here to that one, Ella! MG, I thought that you probably had mede the sari. You did a beautiful job on it and I imagine your fingers were pretty sore after redoing all those beads. Funny, Paige, that you brought up the feeling *like it was going to fall off somewhere* - I have always wondered about that! I mean, you don't have a belt or anything and they are designed to fall off the shoulder, yet stay put. I guess I am taking into account my own *less that stellar* gracefullness at times.

No offence, Ozzz, but I think your friend needs a good meal, he looks rather thin to me!

Kate is adorable Djs! Here is a picture of me with my neighbor's mother, Nilgun. She's Turkish and is one of the most nicest people you ever want to meet:
