More great photos - I love chickadees, too, Argus - they are some of my favorites.

TW, that rose could have been painted, it's so perfect.

Bhs, occasionally we quote here at home from The Great Santini, "Stand by for a fighter pilot!", since I live with one! Good movie, though quite sad in many ways. What a lovely neighborhood you have.

Here's a fearless Stellar's Jay from Yosemite last week. He thought we should have a treat for him.

Enjoying, very much, all the talent I see here. Some days I get lost in the photos and I almost forget about playing the trivia games.

A pale delphinium. This is a recent photo, but for the life of me, I can't remember where I saw it.

Larger photo

This is the stretch of water that feeds Hartsholme lake from the bridge. I liked the different shades and tranquility of the shot.

Edit: Photo size reduced.

Ren, that photo is hilarious!

I haven't taken many photos lately, so here's one from a couple of weeks ago. This was taken early evening in Mayport, Florida.

Here are some interesting shaped blocks in Highgate.

Love all the critter photos, horses, dogs, and cats alike - and another cute bird, Argus!

This is probably the most famous landmark of Yosemite National Park - Half Dome.

Wow, gorgeous photo, djsgal. One of these days I'd love to tour Yosemite.

Cookie IS adorable and looks like a puppy, Santana!
Those palomino's are every little girl's dream, Tredici. Cute little buggers.
And I wish I was as calm as Rosie. We drove through Tropical Storm Faye yesterday and I didn't like it one bit!

I'm loving all the photos again. The animals are all so sweet, and Ren's boxing kangaroo made me laugh! The scenery shots from Yosemite are breathtaking, I'm just loving them.

Here's another tree - a weeping willow, I think.

I liked the cloud formation and the upsidedownness of boat and 'sail', but a bit cross with myself for decapitating the mast.

Great picture, Lily. I guess we both had the same idea today,

Despite Tropical Storm Faye coming through Florida this week, Fort Lauderdale was a nice place to be today. As soon as I learn how to use my photoshop program, I'll delete the woman and the guy's armpit, LOL.

1497 is the date this pub started trading. It is the Fleece Hotel and Monks Retreat in Westgate Street Gloucester. Now closed down under compulsory order from the Council, the Fleece has been left empty for quite a few years. I was a regular visitor there as it was the home of my best school friend. We had great fun exploring the Monks Retreat and the 40 or so bedrooms.. There is a myth that there is a tunnel to the cathedral, which the monks used to nip for a drink. A sad day when its huge black Medieval gates closed.

That's funny Shelley, I thought you don't get many German plates in Vancouver and it was over here (well relatively), and I just got a new country's plate today which I decided not to post as only the enthusiasts' sites would really appreciate such things.

Today's photo is a little part of my world, just to the right of the pub was the school I went to till I was 5, I had a friend behind the garage and the old Safeways (now a Lidl) is next to it on the left. My first girlfriend lived above the shopping parade opposite. I lived in Kingsbury till I was 5, and moved back 30 years later.

When I was little, I used to call houses like these "barn" houses, because of the shape of the roof. These two are on a busy street, only a few minutes walk from my quiet one.
