Perhaps I should start playing some of my own games....

Dinner's on me if you make it Romeo... I treat FT editors whenever I stumble upon them

Terry, thank you very much for the generous offer but I'm afraid we shall have to decline. We can only stay for a couple of hours as I have to get up at 5.30 tomorrow morning for work. We will come over though, we should get there around 4.30 or 5.00pm.

I've just got back from 5 days in north Wales, which is worth a visit if you get time Terry, so have just come across this thread. Remember though that if you want to find 'Chippy' on streetmap or similar website, it's Chipping Campden - not Chipping Camden. Judging from their website, the good folk of Chipping Campden feel quite strongly about this

Terry, it was great to finally meet up with yourself, Karen and the adorable Kira. It's just a shame that Jill and I couldn't stay longer. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Sherry, nice to meet you and Steve as well, two more faces put to names.

What's a "p" between friends - a really pleasant evening and nice to meet all of you guys too. Spent the rest of the evening in the Noel Arms listening to a local fiddle group - along with an army of Japanese tourists - magic!

Well we had a wonderful day again and visited that wildlife park & visited some lovely villages.

We head up to Wales tomorrow to stay near Conwy in a medieval castle for a few days.

Then we head up to spend a few nights in the Lakes District (Ambleside), if anyone wants to meet up near there!

Terry

Depends on what kind of food you like. Considering you are staying in Mayfair....expect expensive!!

For eample - If you like Indian food, there is a lovely Indian restuarant 2 minutes away from Picadilly Circus. (reasonably priced).

I guess I will take the afternoon off from work....and I won't drive to the station (I don't drink and drive).

In the Southeast the roads were designed for the ox cart. On the extreme parts of Britain they were for packhorses - did you know the author Sir Walter Scott is supposed to be the 1st person to drive a wheeled vehicle through Liddesdale on the Scottish borders?
It is a bit late now but if you come again do not forget the National Trust - huge numbers of historic houses.

We actually stayed a couple of nights in Beckford's Tower near Bath.... beautiful National Trust building!

We certainly want to try some more on our next trip.

Hey folks, we're in Scarborough now. Heading out to the beautiful moors tomorrow. Had a lovely time in the Cotswalds and lake district, and had a quick trip up to Scotland.

Tons of rain but that hasn't bothered us much. To be expected on a trip to Britain
