Glad to hear you are enjoying yourselves, Terry, and getting to lots of places from the sounds of it. I'd say dealing with rain is far better than dealing with rain from hurricanes! (Thought I'd try to throw an upside into the continuous deluge going on in the UK right now. )

That's neat, Sue! I'm glad you got to be one of the lucky ones to meet up with them (no, no jealousy here ) and I can't wait to see Kira and Alex!

Well we're in London now. I'm not sure what the occasion was last night but there were explosions and bangs and bongo players and all sorts of noise last night at 11 PM. What a wacky city

Today we're headed down to nearby speaker's corner and then on to wherever we feel like at the time.

Then we're going to meet up with Sypher tomorrow and explore town. I think the plan will be to tour around stuff and then have dinner at an italian restaurant.

If anyone in the London area wants to get together and meet Sypher, myself, my wife, and baby Kira, please post so that we can arrange a meeting place!

Terry, it was the Last Night of The Proms. A classical music festival held every year at the Royal Albert Hall. For the last few years they have also linked up with places that relay it live on big screens as well as hosting their own Proms in the Park. What you heard was probably the finale from Hyde Park.

I'm in Richmond this weekend, not too far from London which has many attractions of its own inluding Richmond Park and Kew Gardens. I doubt you'll have a chance to fit it in but would really like to meet you if you could.

Sypher is a gentleman!

It was lovely to meet you Terry, and Karen and Kira. That was just so sweet with the babies interacting with each other.

I'm sure everyone can understand that this is the first time I have had a real chance to post anything about Monday with Terry & family due to the stock market causing me nothing but grief and hard work.

Met up with Terry, Karen and Kira outside the Ritz and of course I was on the phone and they walked straight past me, but than I noticed a baby on someone's back (Karen's) and I guessed it might be them and shouted out Terry's name. Thank god it was them, it could have been really embarrassing !!

We all took a nice stroll through Green Park towards Buckingham Palace and Birdcage Walk. Karen was taking plenty of photos of just about anything that moved. Stopped for awhile outside the army barracks and saw, what looked like, a squad of new recruits. They were being shouted out and marched up and down the courtyard. It was very funny !!

Next stop was Westminster Abbey and while they were looking inside the abbey I stayed outside and had a nice coffee !! Moving on, we walked to the wobbly bridge (Milleninum Bridge), across the rivef and towards the London Eye. Lots of street performers, if that is what you call just walking around in a silly costume hoping that someone will place a few quid in your tin. After this, (it was about 4pm) we headed back to Bond Street via the underground, where I took them to a lovely nice Italian restuarant. Food was terrific (as usual).

The whole afternoon was very enjoyable and Terry, Karen and Kira were great company and a lot of fun to be with. It's a shame they only had a couple of days in London but that's life !! They should be back home now, resting and getting over the jet-lag !!

We're finally home after a great trip in the UK. A little exhausted, but we had a good time.

It was wonderful meeting Sypher. I did manage to get a couple of words in George, but not many more Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide!

Overall our trip was a blast. We loved the lake district and the Cotswalds the most, and enjoyed our time in London. All of the FT folks we met were absolutely fantastic.

We met some wonderful individuals on our trip, such as the lovely couple who ran the Lygon arms, the wonderful hosts in Wales, and of course the FunTriviers who we met!

Sypher - why did you not take them for typical English meal i.e. a curry?

Because I don't like curry !! PLUS the Italian resturant I knew was very well priced for the West End and it has fantastic food !!
