That could be an idea- if someone actually wanted to pay someone for film of where they used to live or went on holiday then I'm only too happy to oblige. If I can think of somewhere good to advertise that won't cost me more than I'll get from the work (just the DVD and postage would be a few pounds if going abroad) I can see if it generates any interest. I certainly don't know anyone else who's thought of it.

Really though, I would have started at 40% and maybe negotiated down to 35%! You know, a good agent is worth his or her fees.

High for my week is that I got to meet Sean Williams today. He came to our school for a talk and it was really interesting to hear about how he writes. We were apparently a good audience so we may be getting Matthew Reilly in.

Quite a good one, I think most self employed people do better through contacts than advertising so more valuable investments.

My high (so far) today has been hearing from one of my counselling students. As well as actual therapy I also supervise students and qualified counsellors individually, and that includes their written work. I just heard after my reassessments he's passed both assignments in two different courses he failed the first time. I've never known anyone to do two at once but that's the effect of distance learning. My course was very much practical and the theory was just to show we knew what we were doing and had no actual formal lectures, so it's more or less the same as having my own theory tested now (and by two different people!) and I passed it as well as the practice.

I last wrote that I broke my camera and that I was sending it off for repairs. I got the news this weekend that the camera was damaged beyond repair and since it was covered by insurance, I got to pick out a new one! The one I had was an older model so I was able to upgrade to the latest. It's just slightly different but I wanted to stay with something that I was familiar with so I'm pretty happy with this one.

A week or so ago, I also spilled liquid (I won't say what kind ) on my computer and messed up the keyboard. I was able to get online and read, but I couldn't type anything. It was awful not being able to post any photos nor respond to any threads. Yesterday my new keyboard arrived and hubby installed it this morning. Now I'm back to normal!

Good to have you back, ClaraSue, but I think I will keep you away from my gadgets!

High for my week is working something out in dancing. Also my friend and dancing partner got his learner's liscence today, which means he isn't freaking out about it any more.

Thanks, lady and jordan! It's probably a good idea that I don't eat or drink when I'm around my computer anymore.

I have a new boyfriend.
He asked me out a while ago and I said 'wait a month' and he's just asked me out again.

Hi Lioness - good for you.

You must be worth waiting for - and it must be nice to have someone in your life who is able to appreciate that.

Good for the two of you.

That's wonderful Lioness. It's nice to see a female with a head on her shoulders. So many women out there think if they say no, or wait, that they won't get someone to like or love her. Good for you, glad to see he hung around to make that one month decision of yours.

Ella, I had a feeling when you mentioned this before that he would indeed come back after the month and ask again. I agree with Jar, it is so good to have younger women like you as an example.

He'd better be worthy, , or there'll be a bunch of people from the around the world frowning upon him. Great news, Ella.

That's great Ella, good for you. I too, thought he would come back and ask again, after all, why not? - you are worth waiting for.

yay for you, Lioness!

Sorry I haven't been around much. I'm on a self impossed cut back on the computer - too much going on in life lately.

Highs: I bought a new camera but had to order it in so won't be able to be delivered until next week. I'm not very patient!
It's school holidays!!!!!!!!! Since having to do this home schooling thing I think I count down to the holidays more than my son does. hehe.
Starting to warm up here. I'm not unhappy to see winter gone but soon enough it will be stinking hot so will enjoy these nice days while we have them. Although it is the windy season too which causes it's own battles - last week we had two pretty decent dust storms. ugh.

Lows. The dust storms. LOL
My Mum is crook at the moment and yesterday underwent her second round of chemo. As far as cancers go she's been told that this is the best one to have so there is some consolation there. She's not having major reactions to the chemo and is feeling pretty good. The whole hair thing is bothering her though.

Right, off to check out the rest of the forums!
