It was so good to see you back around, Copago! Still so odd to realize you are going into your summer and we just started our fall - I refuse to mention the season after that yet. I hope your Mom continues to do as well as possible with the chemo.

I echo those sentiments Copago, hope your Mom continues to do well with the chemo treatments. My high today was I picked up my youngest son Andrew at the airport today. I haven't seen him in almost two years, so it was a real treat to lay eyes on him again, and to give him a HUGE hug (well, several actually ) He is here for a month , and we are looking forward to some good times ahead. He will relax around here for a few days, then we are off back-packing around Costa Rica.

How nice that your weather is getting ready to warm up, Copago, AND that you're camera is on it's way. I'm looking forward to seeing some photos from you. Glad to hear your mom is feeling pretty good. How exciting for you, MadMags! I bet you and your son will have a blast.

Glad to see you around again, Copage, even if on a 'restricted' basis. I know just how you feel counting down the days to the holidays. Mine are only just back in school and already I can't wait until December when they have a week or two off.
Glad to hear you Mum is doing well on the treatment. Hopefully it will work well!
How lovely for you MadMags!!! I bet your will have a wonderful time!

Mags, I know how excited you have been about this and I am so thrilled he's there. Just do me a little favor - keep yourself in one piece when Sir Andrew the Fearless suggests activities for the two of you!

My high this week is that today is the 1st of the month and I can get online again. Reached my cap and finished my top-up and could not access anything but local sites for 3 days. The low was someone drove into my daughter last week on wednesday - one year and 3 days since her last accident. Fortunately she only had a few bruises but her car will have to be fixed.

Oh man, Lady! I hope your daughter is okay. Did she fully recover from the accident last year? It was her knee that was giving her trouble if I remember?
No real news for me - I did get a new camera yesterday so have spent lots of time working it all out!

Thanks lioness and Copago. She is fine. She has recovered from last years accident, the bone has healed and she is due to have the wires removed from her knee this month. The high this week is my daughter and I are leaving VERY EARLY tommorow to go diving in Mozambique for 5 days.

lady, I just saw that about your daughter! I usually read this thread every morning, could have sworn I did yesterday, but I guess not. I remember the accident/knee injury from last year too and how freaky for it to happen that close in date again. Thankfully the car needs fixing and not her. Now I also know why you seem to disappear for a couple days at the end of the month. I had no idea there was an Internet Cap, but I guess it makes since considering where you live. I often forget that other countries don't have the same access we do. That's gonna be a long week for you, Ella!

High point or Low point whichever way you want Mum has been having a few problems with her blood and getting the warfarian dose right to sort out the DVT. At the moment her blood is too thick. She was feeling off colour yesterday and last night she felt pretty rough with chest pains. Seeming there is a history of heart problems in the family she phoned a ambulance, and we both went to the hospital. After seven hours in the hospital she was sent home witch a clean bill of health. She's upped her dosage of Warfarian and having a blood test on Thursday. It's a low-point that she's feeling off colour but brilliant that she's home! A highlight of the week is that my niece has returned to work, today, after the birth of William. So me and Mum are watching him in the mornings this week

Jane, I am on warfarin too. It takes about three days for the increase in dose to show in a blood test so Thursday would be a good time to be tested, she might then need further adjustment, it can take quite a while to get stable which can be frustrating.

My high today is another piece in my nostalgia collection is in place- the DVD of three BBC colour TV trade tests from the 60s arrived today, the first time I've seen them since 1972. It seems if you wait long enough just about anything can turn up online, and there are a couple more items I'm chasing now.

Welcome back Ella, and yes I am back too. Had a great time in Mozambique and also have some nice photos to share. Hope your mom gets her warfarin sorted out soon Jane. Once she does she will feel so much better. Enjoy your mornings with Prince William. Please don't fight over him now.

lady and Ella, good to have you both among us again, also looking forward to photos. I'm glad your Mom is doing better, Jane. Blood thinners are very tricky meds to get sorted out, no doubt about that. David, My curiosity is piqued and it may sound like a silly question to many of you , but what are these: 'BBC colour TV trade tests'?

We have the first of two elections this Wednesday, the Senatorial elections, and also a referendum on whether we ought to adopt CET - no thanks. I offered my services as a tea maker at a polling station but was told they had enough this time.
This morning I was out but when I returned home there was a message asking me to telephone the Parish Hall urgently which I did. I was asked if I was available on Wednesday to help in the election, not making teas. I will be properly involved and then again in the evening for the counting. I will also be treated to lunch in ah hotel. I am really looking forward to it.
I am wondering how on earth they manage the counting, in fact it is something I have often wondered. This time we have 21 candidates for 6 seats and each person can vote for up to six people.
