Gats,
You need to make the best of that, don't ya know?! What you do is what I did to help my boys with the joys of potty training. Get some of those small jingle bells and put them in the toilet. They are light enough that they float, even when they have a little water in them. The boys would *take aim* to make the bells move and tinkle. Now, since you are doing it in the dark, you will simply have to listen. Just think, if you become adept enough, you can play tunes while you pee!

We got two new boys dancing! We now have more boys than girls, and one of the new ones has a lot of natural talent. He picked up five dances in his first lesson.

That is great lioness. Do you think you will be getting a new dance partner?

Nope, he gets my little sister. I'm happy with my current dance partner anyway, he's pretty much my best friend.

An amazing thing happened. The following BBC report is about my mother's cousin Gerald in Ipswich. My own cousin, who sent it to me said it was on the hourly BBC news all day. I wish my mum could have seen it, he was her favourite cousin.
BBC report
The only bad news is my right eye is getting worse and I have to have a laser op soon. I know it is not a painful procedure, laser treatment, but I still dread it.

Sorry to hear that, Ren

High here was my little bloke getting the Student of the Week in his school He's tried really hard this term and it was wonderful to see him recognised although I'm sure lots of the kids did too. As a reward he is getting to sleep outside in the hammock tonight.

Low. None really. Life is pretty good.

That's so amazing, Ren.
Well done to Conor! Hope he enjoys his hammock!
Everything is going steady in "Jane's world" after a nasty bug hit me and Mum (and others in the family! ) for sox, but thankfully we're all feeling better! Christmas shopping is well under way of being completed, and done a fair bit of "on-line" shopping this year, which saves us carrying things

It is nice to know that you can reward Connor with the 'simple things in life' Copago. Quite a change from video games, cell phones and toys. Well done Connor.

What a heartwarming and amazing story, Ren. That is one of the neatest I have heard in a long time. You'll do fine with the laser surgery, I'm sure, and it will be so worth it!

A big *Yay* to Conor from me too, Copago!

Well done Conor! Hope the spiders don't invite themselves into the hammock, what a fun treat!

Ren, that's one amazing story!
I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well and you're in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure the laser op will go fine and it will be very helpful. But I do know how you feel, I am not too keen on doctors and 'stuff' myself .

Well, Copago, I bet you're one very proud mother . Well done, Conor! Keep up the good work.

I've rarely announced my highs and/or lows in here, but this time I just have to 'mourn' everywhere I can .
The lowest for this week/month/year...

My doggie has died two days ago. He was my very first dog and we've been together for almost 14 years. I am literally devastated - sorry if this sounds silly, immature or even crazy. He's been such a wonderful and faithful friend that it feels like losing a member of the family.

Mada,
I am so, so sorry to hear that. You do not sound silly or anything else. You are grieving for a best friend that you have lost. My Jordan is soon to be 13, in excellent health, but I know that day cannot be far off for me. I shed tears for both of you, is that silly, no. Again, I am sorry for the pain I know you are feeling.

Aww, Denni, my heart goes out to you. I know what it is to lose a loved pet, and they most certainly are part of the family, not just a friend. And it is certainly okay to be devastated, they are a loved one! So sorry he is gone.

Thank you everybody for your soothing words. The pain is starting to subside a little bit but not much. Seeing how I don't have any children, my dog was my 'baby' since he was 2 months old.

If anybody is curious, here is a photo of my sweet boy.

Aww, Denni I'm so sorry to hear that As everyone else said, pets really are members of the family, so I understand how you must be feeling. He surely was a sweetie. I'm sorry again.

Such a sweet looking pup, Denni. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Pets ARE family and I know just how you feel. I never had children so any of my dogs become my 'children' too.

Oh Mada I am sorry for your loss. It is sad when a pet dies as they are part of your family. Our cat is 15 years old and suddenly we have noticed that she is 'old'. Expect I will be posting her loss on here some time in the near future too. My thoughts are with you at this time.

Ren, what an amazing story about your mother's cousin! As for the surgery, I understand your feelings, but I'm sure you will be glad for it once it's over.

Copago, congratulations to the little one, that's great news. Good that he sees a reward for hard work.

Jane, glad you are over the 'flu bug, I had it too... not nice. Yikes, you are almost finished your Christmas shopping? I better start thinking about mine, eh?

Mada, I am so very very sorry to hear about your loss of Tumpi. It is devastating to lose a family member, which our furry friends certainly are. They give us unconditional love, and are so pure in their love towards us it is so very hard to say goodbye to them. When I lost my two ol' pups, Kronos and Egan, someone gave me this link to the Rainbow Bridge. It helped my grieving to leave a tribute to them. Perhaps you can find some comfort there too.

(((Hugs to you Mada))))

Mada, I am so sorry. My cat "Taxi" is 13, and I don't want him to go.

There really are no words.

I've been a bit late getting on this thread, but I'm really sorry for your loss, Denni. I know that I could not bear to lose my cat, who has only been with me two years, much less fourteen. As many hugs as you need are being sent your way.

Have to go away for a few days from tomorrow to take the little bloke to swimming lessons. I think the parents look forward to it more than the kids cause it means going to a town we don't normally go to (Mildura), lots of shopping, getting Christmas shopping done, seeing the other Mums who we don't get to see much, getting away from home for a few days and I have a cousin down there so I can catch up on that family goss. Oh and seeing the kids learn how not to drown is an advantage too ..

OK, JD, I can't be the only one wondering what to do with the 'peed on bells.'You can't flush them, right?
I can only think of one alternative. Scoop them out, and soak in Clorox until the next urge...Yuk!

Anyhow, I used Cheerios, or Froot Loops. They don't make noise, but they are flushable, and teach AIM.
