Two trains on Preston Station one arriving and one departing.

Professor, your Sunday pic could have been a triffid, and it reminded me of the weird plants in the Hong Kong Park.

That is lovely, ren, but I think the triffids have been to Preston. I have never seen such a deserted station!

Wow yes. Ours are certainly never like that!

There are several navigation canals around here; this is a rather crowded side canal in the nearby town of Ware.

Preston station when i took photo was 9am on a sunday morning only mad people like me travel that early.

Canal boats look like they'd be a nice way to travel around the country.

This is a photo of our new foot bridge across the Red River. The large building in the center is a restaurant.



You can't see it from this side but on the other side of the footbridge is a vehicle bridge also new.

Professer, you've beat me! This is a train that's just arrived at St Helier station in Sutton. Nearly all the train photos I have I've actually used are steam trains, the rest are for artistic purposes!

My Rose of Sharon bush has flowered! I planted it last year, and had just about given up on it for this year, then a couple of days ago it sprouted several lovely flowers. There are still some buds too

The Statue of Queen Victoria on horse is in George Square Glasgow which has numerous statues of various famouse people, The other Statue on horse back is Prince Albert.

I shall have to go over the history books again as the statue suggests that Queen Victoria was injured in battle, judging by the stance of her mount.

Here's the new block of flats and arts centre in North Finchley where there used to be a derelict cinema (one of many in London all either now flats plus one converted to a gym).

Beetles having dinner

djsgal, SOTHC may be referring to the school of thought that according to some, if one hoof is raised, the rider was injured in battle, if two hooves are raised, the rider died in battle. However, Snopes.com declares that is completely false. The instances that Snopes refers to are all U.S. examples though. The rumor still goes on.

This crane has planning permission to be turned into a resturant, It was the crane that loaded all the steam engines and trains on ships that took them to places all over the world; India,China and South Africa to name but a few.

I just spent a week driving from SC to Vermont and back -- a very quick trip.

The seasons are a'changing in Vermont
