I was wondering if anyone would know where I could look for Christmas ornaments that you can paint.

Hi!

There is Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Thompson's Hobbies (if you are in Metro Denver, Colorado). In addition, some Jo-Ann Fabric/craft stores. Check ceramics stores.

I will pm you with locations of the craft stores I can find.

Good luck and happy crafting.

I've always loved the look of those clear glass baubles that you can paint or fill with stuff .. are those the ones you mean? I've only ever seen them on American sites and I wouldn't trust Aust. POst with them in a pink fit!!

Copago - aren't the glass ones nice? We found heart shaped ones and made a Valentine mobile out of them. Some were filled (to various levels for balance) with pink sand, red confetti hearts, heart-shaped beads and so on.

Ah, a question....by your comment, it appears Aust. Post would not be gentle with the decorations. However, what is a pink fit?

You can also buy ceramic ornaments that are fun to paint with acrylic paints. And the glass ones do come in colors, too.

Pink fit = purple rain at our house. I understand now.

I forgot to mention if you do ceramic items, they require heating in a kiln. If you go this way, make sure you verify all costs. For example, do you have to pay for each placement in the kiln or is the total cost included in the price of the ornament.

If the ceramic ornaments are no longer greenware (already been "baked") then you can stain them without having to put them in the kiln again. Then they can be sealed or not, your choice. I've done numerous stained ceramic ornaments.
