'Symmetry or patterns' is a suggestion by djsgal.

I won't be around to start next Sunday's theme. Sue may be able to do it but that's not certain. If a new theme can't be started, this one will be left open for two weeks.

Just something further. I know I haven't post too much myself lately but anyway, thanks to everyone for making the photo threads a success. Great photos of many parts of the World and the things in it! Back soon.

"Symmetry generally conveys two primary meanings. The first is an imprecise sense of harmonious or aesthetically-pleasing proportionality and balance; such that it reflects beauty or perfection. The second meaning is a precise and well-defined concept of balance or "patterned self-similarity" ..."

Great images, both. Mine is just run of the mill, taken about a month ago in the garden of William Shakespeare's House.

Nothing 'run of the mill' about that shot Lily - it's great!

I also love the others as well!

Lily, no, not run of the mill by any stretch.

ren, Isn't that perfection! I have to wonder how many gardeners it takes for the upkeep.

I love symmetry! Great images from everyone.

Arlington National Cemetery - lots of symmetry and precise patterns, and a really beautiful place in many ways.

Lots of interesting photos this week!

The Nansha police would probably put me away for saying this, but the building in the Elizabethan Garden reminds me (okay, vaguely) of an old Howard Johnson's restaurant.

I have felt so left out of things since I broke my camera **sniff**, but I am enjoying very much all the wonderful photos in this week's theme. I'm impressed with all of them.

This was taken in Berlin earlier this year. It's the roof of the Sony Centre in the Potsdamer Platz, taken at night. It's a truly impresive sight & my photo doesn't do it justice.

(I hope I've managed to get the photo to be the right size. Apologies if I've made it too big again. I do try, you know. Everyone tells me how trying I am.)

Yes, I agree Tredici, great photos here. Martin, i can see where the whole thing must be very impressive.

Well, i had to hunt a bit, but i don't know what can be more symmetrical than a pair of butterfly wings ...
