Since we are about to hit post #500 in the first thread, I thought it was about time to open another one.

Same rules apply : Guidelines

And here is a link to the first gallery so you can go back and see old photos: Photo Gallery 1

It looks like I get the honours of being first to post in this new thread

Firstly I'd like to comment on Jane and Denni's last posts from the previous thread.

Denni, your card is really cute. I love everything about it!!!

Jane, your Advent Calendar has turned out wonderfully!. You must be proud of yourself. (I'm afraid to say I have only managed to stitch two rows of mine so far ... maybe one year) ...

I've just finished this Scrapbook page of my almost-teenage daughter. She's at that 'camera-shy' stage , and doesn't want to be photographed. I caught this shot on the sly when we were picnic-ing in the Pyrenees earlier this year. It is the only reasonably use-able shot of about 40 or 50 which I snapped at that moment.

Thank you, Liz. I am proud of her, but that's just an overindulgent mother thing I'm sure

I'm tempted to enlarge the photo a little and try it again on the page, but am afraid it might overpower a little. Maybe I'll just get the print then see how it looks...

Toni I would say , don't do a thing to it. It's just a lovely natural picture of someone that age and stage, She looks such a sweetie. The page is great.

Third opinion here, whether welcomed or not? Leave it just as it is, all of it. I think she looks beautiful and it captures her essence, as awkward as she may feel right now, but didn't we all at that stage?! I know I did and still remember it after all this time.

In the previous Craft Circle photo gallery, I showed two stages of my Advent Calendar - one with no pockets, and one with pockets. And here is the completed calendar, backed onto quilted material - just needs the "goodies" in the pockets in December. This might be one of my favourite projects - I have wanted to do it for many years

Just beautiful, Jane, and thank you for sharing all the stages and your hard work with us. I admire both your skill and patience, as I do all you great crafters on here.

Never mind that, what I'm interested in is ... who gets to empty it day-by-day?!

Great work, Jane! Somebody is going to have lots of fun come Christmas time

Lets put everyone out of their miserery - I'm the one who fills it and definately I'm the one who empties it too Nothing like having your own home-made calendar, because you can get more in it than the shop brought ones! I've reserved my "old advent calendar" for a certain little Prince when he's older

I got busy today while the kids were busy constructing robots, horses and pirates and keeping out of my hair

I came up with this page of my youngest taken at sunset this summer. (I think I posted the photograph in colour in P-A-D already). I think it looks much better in black and white. Thank goodness for modern technology which can convert my pictures as I wish.... Anyhow, I set the B/W picture off on a simple, stylish coffee and cream coloured background with a felt arabesque or two, matching paper flowers, and voilą.

I think I will call the page 'Contemplation' and make the title in swirly writing in the top left hand side, in the darker chocolate-y colour which I have used to mat the photo. Anyhow, just felt like sharing , you're probably all bored with my family photos and scrapbook pages turning up on this thread

Edited to say that in fact the original photo was posted in this thread, not Photo-A-Day

Both your pages look really good.

In the one of your daughter I liked the writing you had surrounding the photo. If you want to keep that in it you probably shouldn't do anything to the photo as it would be different proportions.

Then again I don't know much about scrapbooking so if you want you can ignore me.

...neither do I, I'm just winging it Every single comment I had both here and on another craft-forum I frequent has said to leave that page of my daughter alone, so I'm going with the majority on this and haven't touched it It's the usual story of not knowing when or where to stop, eh? Thanks for the input, I really do appreciate it!

Santana, I am glad to hear you left your daughter's alone! I love that page, both the design and colors, beautiful.

Here's another page for the album I am making for my goddaughter. I hope I get it finished before my next visit in two weeks...but it's a slim hope...

Here's another of the pages I prepared on Sunday. Photo in sepia, coffee-and-cream background. (I used the leftovers from my son's page further up, hence the similarity of the two pages)

oh Santana all your pages look great. You daughter is such a gorgeous girl - she actually reminds me of me .. haha just kidding, but the second I saw it she reminds me so much of a Scottish friend of mine - I must try and find a photo so you can compare. Spooky.

Love that advent calendar, Jane! Looks excellent

Here's a card I made this morning - I tend to do more card making lately than scrapbooking although that was because of the whole camera woes. Did you know that today (Saturday) is world card making day?
