When I check out the "recent scores" for my quizzes this evening, I was impressed to see that a player, whose name I had never come across before, had played almost all of my quizzes. Thought it would be nice to send the person a note and see if s/he had enjoyed the quizzes. Imagine my disapointment when I looked up the player's profile, only to discover that the account was no longer active. I suspect s/he was caught cheating. And here I thought I had a major new fan!

I guess it was the same player who played most of my quizzes also. S/he scored full marks on all the quizzes they played on their way to 800,000 plus points in a day. Quite a total but I think you're right and there must have been some problem with scoring such an incredible amount.

Yes, I was impressed when they scored full marks on 13 of my quizzes. They did the same with several of my team mates as well.

By the time I'd clicked on their profile, I think they'd been served up with butter and marmalade!

That person is now gone and they actually racked up almost a million points in just one hour! Do you think there was any funny business going on?

Looks like the same person played most of mine too... but only got 3/10 on a few of them? That's weird.

Must of played your quizzes before they figured out how to cheat. This player got perfect scores on all but two of the quizzes s/he played. What a weird way to spend one's time.

I had the pleasure of this "thing" playing my quizzes too! Remarkable fellow, had 10s in nearly all of mine, taking about a minute to play each quiz. Such talent isn't it?

This is so funny. Like Janet, I was amazed to see that someone had played eleven of my quizzes back-to-back with 10/10 on almost every one of them. I had to look up the profile for my biggest fan when I saw that he/she had been toasted. What a brief moment of glory!

The name was Xplisit, if I remember correctly?
janetgool said, "What a weird way to spend one's time." I would say for a hacker, this was a pretty big coup for them actually, and not at all weird to them because it's how they get their kicks. It shows there is a 'crack in the wall' somewhere here because they walked in, released a pretty sophisticated *runner*, and basically took over the site for awhile. I have to admire the brains behind it, even if I don't like what they did.

I would imagine it was a case of someone having two accounts.

Wow, they got perfects on mine too. Two and then three in a min. Somehow they missed my Gilgamesh one. So has most of the other people on this site

Got 10/10 on four of mine. I wonder if s/he took the time to rate them?

And got maximums on all mine, including my John Rebus quizzes - it's usually only emmajane and melisch who get maximums in those.

I think this person is behind a public tournament I spotted (and commented on elsewhere before I saw this thread)

I noticed early this morning a player had an astronomical amount of points, but I figured it was a glitch in the system.

That is such a shame. That happened just recently and they got banned.

Yes I agree Jordandog; it's hard not to have a sneaking regard for their skills. I also like the irony of the team name that s/he created for themselves - Men in Tights!
Maybe if they are a modern day Robin Hood then they will return to redistibute the points they stole.
From an orderly queue...

There was obviously something rather dodgy going on as they played 11 of my quizzes and scored maximum points.

The points amassed prior to 'disappearing' from the site, was in excess of two and a half million in 4 hours. I've heard of quick....

People who have to cheat to win anything are sad and pathetic losers with no integrity. They clearly haven't enjoyed the finely crafted quizzes and interesting information that we have all contributed to the site. That makes them double losers!

Well, if nothing else positive came out of the masked bandit's run on funtrivia, I think I'll go have a look at wdstk's "gilgamesh" quiz. High o Silver and Shalom!

Wow! Now I feel bad. Why didn't I get a player like this? lol. I wish I could get 2,500,000 points in 4 hours. That would surely give me a good rep. But to think, it took Triviaballer ALL DAY to score 120,000 and he was pooped afterwards. I can't imagine getting 2,500,000!
