Ashie

An iron age roundhouse at the Celtic Harmony re-enactment centre, where my wife has been working this week-end. The Centre is in the woods, only a mile or so from where we live.

What a grand bunch of photos! I love the seaplanes, and Ashie is a doll!

It was another gorgeous fall day today, if a bit frosty. Not much of a photo, but it gives an idea of the blue sky.

I hear Julie Andrews singing Prof ... how beautiful it is there. Santana, Clara Sue ... what a contrast in "mansions" . Poor froggie appears to have an upset stomach, lol - that seems like a quaint and small station Satguru. Ashie is gorgeous ... smiling, alert! The roundhouse looks like an amazing feat of engineering piquero. Nice to see you aren't inundated with snow there yet, sp.liz and still have some gorgeous days.



More fall colours... soon they will be gone.

Shelley it is a wonderful place, this is a place that not many tourists go to in Switzerland, I was only there as my friend i stayed with had to visit a 80 year old friend there. The picture was from this friends garden.



When you visit the Statue of Freddie Mercury in Montreux it is customery to place a yellow rose at his feet.

I placed three as friends asked me to place them for them as well.

All great photos - Shelley I love that photo of your "fall colors", but to me they look Christmasy, red and green, you know! So pretty.

After all of that talk about persimmons and crab apples last week, lo and behold I got 4 big persimmons in my box of organic produce this week (along with some other tasties). They are as hard as rocks but should soften up soon so I can make persimmon pudding!

Bit hard to see but there is a lizard on the right of the photo - the pup wasn't quite sure what to do about it.

Beautiful osprey, and I love the standoff between the puppy and the lizard!

Magnificent osprey bhs. ahhh...Betty Boop...the good old days. Liked the brickwork sign, "vaudeville" there as well, sp.liz. One can see that Ashie is thoroughly inquisitive about his situation. Your love of quiet places of beauty is so clear, Gary. Have never tasted persimmons, but just the name sounds delicious!

Pelicans...

This is Wembley from a railway bridge

I've only had a persimmon once in my life, but I remember it as being very bitter and chalky. I'm assuming it was not ready to eat if they're usually good tasting.

Great dog pictures, another one of my favorite subjects. Neat pelicans, bhs. We were indeed very close to you this past weekend. I was going to call, but we had another couple with us. Next time, though, I will!

This is Angel Oak, another tourist attraction near Charleston, SC. I had some more picures without people in it, but I wanted to keep them in to show the size of this amazing tree. "The Tree" as locals call it, stands 65 feet tall, but has a canopy of over 17, 100 square feet, with a base circumference of 25 feet.

I love that tree, ClaraSue! What a beauty.

I rather liked this window in an old warehouse that I passed on my walk today.

One of the walls outside the mountain Studios where Queen and Freddie MErcury recorded. The owner has to re paint the walls twice a year.

That is one impressive tree!


I will apologise to any golf fans now. Here is the ninth 'green' at White Cliffs: close-ish to where I live. They wouldn't have enough water for the grass so they have dirt ones with sump oil poured on them to protect from the wind. Normal courses have the rakes to rake the bunkers but here they ask you to rake the green three blades wide from the hole.

That is pretty funny Copago. Guess you have to be a golf nut to want to play golf there.

The persimmon you describe Lisa sounds exactly like the ones I tried when my grandparents used to have them. They seemed to think they tasted OK but all they did was dry my mouth out. Very strange. Never even seen a loquat before though let alone eaten one.

Here is the path along the railway line leaving Neasden station. It says one of the most popular topics at Photobucket is Miley Cyrus, I think I just got her on the path if you look closely, in between her two bodyguards.
