According to the Norfolk Village Signs website (which will not let me link or copy) the sign erected by King George V in 1912 depicts the legend of the futility of trying to appease evil. The warrior God Tyr's hand was bitten off, despite an unbreakable chain being made by a magician. Besides, it's the only sign post that I can think of that I have and some newer members may have not seen it. I took my son to White Cliffs today for a school day so ihad lots of time to wander about. There are lots of open mine shafts dotted all about. This is just a mine field but there are two hills in the town that people do live in the actual dugouts.
