Anybody know of any good mystery movies based on a true story? I've been looking for some real good ones to watch that are true stories because it makes it that much more exciting!

I don't know about 'mystery', but you might like to check out "Small Sacrifices" and "Fatal Vision".

The best of the bunch is "In Cold Blood".

Though heavily dramatized, "A Place in the Sun" is another good one.

I don't know why, but the first examples that came to mind were all made-for-tv movies:

- A Killing in a Small Town - incredible performance by Barbara Hershey.

- The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom - great performances all round, especially Holly Hunter as the title character.

- Citizen X - the true story about the hunt for a serial killer in Russia. Interesting to see a police procedural which isn't set in the US, for a change.

Quite an old film, but "10 Rillington Place" was good.

"The Boston Strangler" is pretty good, even with Tony Curtis in the title role.
