This is kind of artsy. Plus there is an art to making lutefisk. There is an art to eating lutefisk.

I had one of my many dreams of amazing places and this had a row of shops somewhere in America I remembered clearly enough to make them out of balsa wood. There were bushes above them all but most have fallen out since. I've seen some real places with plants like that after but didn't remember any before.

All of the art is so neat!

My late grandmother started painting when she was in her late 60s - here is one that she made for me many, many years ago. (Sorry about the flash.)

About 30 years ago we were in a pub. Paintings that were for sale hung on the walls. We liked this one and ended up buying it. Having little knowledge of art, we weren't to know that it came from what sounds like an art factory and similar paintings abound throughout the World. No value at all . Nonetheless, it is real paint put on by somebody artistic. A pleasing picture that holds memories of better times for us, so it still hangs on the wall.

30 years ago? I didn't know they let children hang around in pubs in England.

I love them all!

Gary, I immediately thought of Garrison Keillor and 'Lake Wobegon Days':
"Every Advent we entered the purgatory of lutefisk, a repulsive gelatinous fishlike dish that tasted of soap and gave off an odor that would gag a goat. We did this in honor of Norwegian ancestors, much as if survivors of a famine might celebrate their deliverance by feasting on elm bark. I always felt the cold creeps as Advent approached, knowing that this dread delicacy would be put before me and I’d be told, "Just have a little." Eating a little was like vomiting a little, just as bad as a lot."

Ha! Wish I was that young. Being occasionally younger at heart than my years is all I might be able to claim these days.

This is an engraving by my 88 year old mother which she did a few years ago. A bit worn and faded now, but a definite likeness to my old cat. Her latest hobby is making dolls house furniture!

Tredici, I'd love to know more about your photo....

And yes, that "Dry Run" photo is very clever!

Personally, I'd love it if this subject could carry over for another week so everyone has a chance to find/post more photos like these! I am still deciding which one I will place here.

BurgGurl, traveling exhibit which came through the local museum. Unfortunately it was one of those without information or explanation leaving each person to form their own conclusions, I guess. This display is a bit more "traditional".

This is a tapestry I made many years ago. I decided to sell it on Ebay, and it was sold to America. However, we never got confirmation that it was recieved or not

Beautiful, Jane. I would have bought it too.

BTW, did anyone notice that the pub painting and the painting by my grandmother were eerily similar?
