djsgal, You're right, they are! I hadn't noticed it until you said something.

Tredici, Your's of the 3 'men' is rather unnerving and it's too bad there was no info given.

lily, I love that engraving - 88 and doing beautiful work, wow.

Jane, I'll jump in the bidding on that tapestry also, wonderful work there! I'm sure Jar is correct about the 'hearing from them' if they didn't receive it.

What a great range of art!

This is by Peter Browne and sort of famous Australian artist. I bought it about 13 years ago - had saved up most of it and the other half chucked in the rest on my birthday. Last time I looked at his gallery in Silverton (near Broken Hill) the price of the same size had quadrupled. Just need the man to die now ...

This is one of my favourites of many wood carvings done by my brother-in-law, called "Family". I took this photo last spring, when a number of his works were on show at a local gallery, but had seen it in various stages in his garage/workshop.

I have posted this before, but it remains my favourite piece of art. An early effort by my daughter when she was 8. It won her age group first prize in the Kelloggs Childrens exhibition in the Tate.

When I said the idea of the tear was brilliant, she confessed the paint had run and she had to change it into a tear. Effective eh?
She went on to gain a place in Chelsea College of Art for her Foundation year, and then to Manchester University where she got a 2:1 in Art.

Wow, very impressive, Ren! Do you have any of her current art to show? (Maybe in photo of the day?) Would love to see what she's doing now.

Copago - his work certainly has a whimsy charm about it.

spanishliz, your brother-in-law's work is beautiful. I presume his showing was very successful.

Ren - I am so envious of your daughter's artistic talents! I've always maintained if we got to petition for one thing we weren't given in life, my request would be how to draw and create images with my own hands.

As it is I am thankful for cameras and computer graphic programs.

Many interesting pieces in this thread.
