Everything is a free replacement search tool for Windows Search. Unlike Windows Search, that can take ages to find a file, 'Everything' brings instant results as you type. The search works this fast because it catalogues every file (name only, not content) on your computer. More can be read about this utility here (read the 'Everything' FAQ). The tool is recommended by a number of reputable places in including ZDNet. I've had it installed for about a month now with no ill-effects. A good addition to Windows in my opinion.

The default is for 'Everything' to run at Windows Start-up but this can be altered in the program's options. Any files new found will be added to the file database each time 'Everything' is used.
