Well, here's the link to her profile on the other side. http://www.funtrivia.com/profile.cfm?player=shavsyBut I notice she hasn't been on for a few days. Pm's sent on that side just sit in your mailbox till you log in and check; on this side you get a notice in your "real" email box. At least that's how it works for me. So you could send her a note.

I had a message from ecnalubma around the end of November. I know she was dealing with some issues. I hope she comes back soon. I also miss lanfranco. Roos, I am sorry to hear of your medical issues. I hope everything turns out well and that you are back in full swing soon. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear of this news, but to echo Sue's sentiment, good thing you were getting checked out for something else or you might not have found it in time. Fingers-crossed in New York.

MG's computer was down for the count. I got a real Christmas card from her though!
Roos, I'm sorry to hear about it as I am helping a friend with this problem. Folks, get one of those colonoscopies if you can, early...there's so much they can do with early intervention.

So sorry, Roos! I don't know you, but you're a legend around here I wish you a speedy recovery, and my best to your family, too. I received a very nice note from Harish (archenar)the other day. I sent him a compliment on one of his quizzes and one of my usual long winded narratives as to why I took his quiz. Probably more info than he needed Harish sent me a very gracious thank you note, and he did mention that he didn't "check in here too often these days". How lovely to receive a thank you note for a thank you note! ecnalubma - I have been worried about her. I last heard from her in November, when I had just been discharged from hospital, and I had to dash off a very quick response. My note sounded a bit snappish, and I left her with quite the wrong impression. Unfortunately, my recovery period took a bit longer than expected, and by the time I got around to apologising for sounding so abrupt, I realised that ecalubma had not logged in since the 2nd of December. I have since sent her a PM, hoping she would see mail notification in her "regular email". She has been very kind and very supportive; I do hope she returns to FT soon.

Hi everyone. It's nice to know I've been missed.
To cut a very long story short, my computer starting crashing around the beginning of November. Maynooth tried everything imaginable and was "fixing" it several times a night every night at first. We spent a small fortune replacing various components. It was in and out of the repair shop several times - each time they swore they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Finally, we gave up and began shopping for a new computer. We picked it up yesterday and Maynooth spent all last night setting it up.
Now he is so sick of computers, I have it all to myself for a while! I have a mountain of emails to answer, not to mention editing to catch up on.
Roos, I am so sorry to hear your news but I am hoping for the best for you and your family. It is amazing what modern medicine can do these days. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I still have not heard from ecnalubma. She has been away from FT since December 2nd. I hope she returns, or replies, soon. Lanfranco has been gone since September 6th. I have not heard from her either. I hope we hear from her soon. Roos, how are you doing? I think of you daily and am always wishing and hoping the best for you. Welcome back, MotherGoose. Your presence was missed.

I had wondered where you were for some time as well Roos and very sorry to hear the diagnosis. My stepfather had the same thing and although pretty advanced he made a full recovery and was over 70. Shavsy is also on Facebook and was also glad to see harish and halfbakedangi back although under unhappy circumstances in their home country, and are clearly studying far too much to spend a lot of time here at the moment. We had one of these threads a while back and about half the people I mentioned popped in after reading it (how do they know if they're not around I wonder ) and will add a few more I've noticed for a while. Ing, Engadine as already said, JoanieM, Beee, and any more that come to me will be added later. I have been economical and edited more. Has anyone heard from Fjohn recently?

Firstly a thank you to the following people. Their comments, posts and prayers are much appreciated! Sue943 ClaraSue JaneMarple Lynn-ann Copago Ren33 The_lioness33 Jordandog Denni19 Queproblema Gatsby722 Lady1 Minkpenny DivineMsDRL Honeybee4 Talentedone Tezza1551 BurgGurl Bruyere Cydonia325 MotherGoose Djsgal Satguru I decided to not have the surgery before Christmas. After talking with a couple of specialists the fact is that the medical community is split right down the middle regarding having radiotherapy and chemo before surgery or having it after. I had to decide myself and after looking at the pros and cons decided that my chance of long term survival would be bettered if I had radiotherapy and chemo then surgery. I`m starting tomorrow and that will take 5-6 weeks then a healing period of about 4 weeks then the surgery, about 10 days in hospital then 6 months or so to recuperate. I would have posted earlier but the pain killers I`m taking are leaving me more than a little "wasted" (mainly the morphine) and it`s not that easy to concentrate for very long when doing anything! I think I`ll start a thread in a couple of days about bowel cancer and detail my own experiences and perhaps others could post theirs as well. Roos

A thread of your experiences, Roo, would be very interesting, I think. If you can, that is. Don't overdo anything. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Roos, I agree with ClaraSue that a diary of your experiences could be vital, both for you, and for those reading it. I know it helps me to let people know what I am going through and it also helps me to read my own words, it often gets my perspective back. You never know, you might save someone else from having a horrible time if they ever go through something similar. I will also second the 'do it when you are able to'. What you are looking at is going to zap you, not just physically, but mentally too. My nursing specialty was Oncology, so I speak from what I know and have seen. Journaling was something we always encouraged patients to do.
How wonderful that you have all of us supporting you in this fight! Positive thoughts and many prayers for you.
