Welcome to the December photo thread. The November thread will be left open for a while to allow for World time zones. It will close it once it is December 1st for everyone. Post in either thread (but not both) until then. If anyone needs information on how to post photos, it can be found in the ' Photo posting guide' located at the top of the forum.

I bet that Christmas display is just gorgeous lit up Gary. and "other Gary" i see the lights are already up and about around you. Hard to believe Christmas is almost here. Ren, your opera shots were all a real treat - so bright and colourful. Really enjoyed the November thread and just wish there was more time to comment on all the fine photos. Can't wait to see what is coming up for December ! "into the light ..." Harbour Seal Vancouver Aquarium - Vancouver, B.C.

Shelley Edinburgh this time of year is fabulous with the Winter Wonderland festival and the other Christmas events the city has, only 26 days and i will e back there again. The hog roast smelled wonderful in the air and the meat was so succulent, the smell of chestnuts cooking too and the mead.
The ferris wheel was busy as was the carosuel and the food stalls, the german stalls were also very busy with a variety of goods on offer

Great photos, all - I love the seal shot, mcshellsie! I'm delinquent in posting photos lately, but I did get a shot of the rare grouping of Venus, Jupiter, and the crescent moon last night. Jupiter is the higher, dimmer light. Here's a link to the view from my upstairs window: Our Horizon

Love the bulldozer Copago. I'll bet its out of warranty by now. Nice geese pictures, Tredici and lilyalli. The sky and clouds in both pictures really add some punch to the photos. Here are the Falls of the Big Sioux River today. Its been...how shall I say...a little frosty.

Cool river pic! I've never seen that around here ;-)
But all those geese -- they're headed here! I hear honking every day, and not because of my driving...

... beautiful Canada geese, i always look up when i hear them, their cry never ceases to stir my heart. Growing up on the prairies, they were so dear to us. My those waterfalls look wonderful and cold! Gary, you make me positively "homesick" to be in Scotland again, particularly Edinburgh as you describe it this time of year - i hope you have a wonderful trip (and lots of photos please ! ) Windows depicting mostly famous people who were involved in the political building of Ireland. DJ's gal - i had been admiring those bright orbs in the sky all week, what a wonderful capture of them!! Piquero, somehow that building looks topheavy, lol - it is a fine structure. Very lovely and old sights Satguru. If you hadn't explained the locale, it looks Roman to me, . Beautiful.
