You need to look closely, but there is a snowflake above the beak of this tiny titmouse. He was sitting still on the gate long enough to get a shot, albeit not the clearest, but the best I could get. For some reason, I could not get the picture up to a larger size via Photobucket.

I took it a couple of months ago, i wish i were there right now!! (all of you will get to know my homeland little by little!) [image] [/image]

Oh wouldnt it be lovely to have hummingbirds in our gardens over here: love all the birdies, but think the Australian starling my actually be a swallow? http://www.austmus.gov.au/factsheets/images/welcome_swallow1.jpgAgain , super photo Shellie.... Chuck is a little happier now - had his share of the turkey judging by the fat tum!

Beautiful pictures guys! and satguru, I'd die to be there, I've been studying English since I was 6 so you can imagine I really hope I'll be able to visit that country some day (when it stops being one of the most expensive in the world! ) Here's a lighthouse from the same beach I recently posted here (though it wasn't taken on the same sunny day, as you can see. Looks ominous, doesn't it?)

oops, right you are, Shelley! Windy day here yesterday so we went and flew a kite that has been sitting on top of the cupboard for years. Great fun.

That beautiful cake looks far too good to eat! It must have taken ages to make. So many lovely pics recently..... I would love a better camera, but for now making do, so here is my hazy shot this afternoon on the beach at Old Hunstanton, famous for its striped chalk and carrstone (sandstone) cliffs. Unfortunately, they are eroding quite rapidly and are dangerous to climb, although the colonies of fulmars seem happy enough.

That looks like a painting, Lily! Beautiful. Here is a river goanna that ran across in front of us the other and then ran up a tree. I think technically they're called a lace monitor and this one was about 5ft long including it's tail which is about half of it.

Thanks Nancy, Surrey has the most tourist type villages, and has prices to reflect it as you say! Here's some more old England, these signs even predate the blue and yellow ones we had before 1963. In fact many of the earlier ones were the same as we have now except with capital letters, so things don't always change as much as they seem. But all the old signs had raised letters and could be painted when they wore, modern ones are flat and are replaced when they wear out so a false economy as many like this are over 100 years old and were made for people on horses.

What an interesting picture, liz. Clever to have the branches and needles against the diamonds of the fence. Beautiful sunset, bhs. I'd like to say this is my private jet but that would be a lie. Mine is in for maintenance. The biffy is full.
