What a lovely gift, Sarah. Glad to see you made it over here!

It's been a few days since I checked in. It's amazing the number of wonderful photos to wade through! Keep them coming!

A skull found in Colorado this past summer.

Although it uses a very old design these signs are actually new, I haven't noticed them before and there's one for the next stop as well.

This is what a December sunrise looks like on the prairie.

Great set of horns on that Colorado skull; a real 'work of art'!
Here's a typical everyday scene on the River Thames; the government Environment Agency patrol launch, Thames Champion, passes the pleasure craft Mercedes.

Thank you. If you lived here, you could see it everyday. Of course, the cold and snow would be a drawback, but...

The stairs to nowhere. The house burned down many, many years ago. The replacement house is set much further back on the property. No one wanted the stairs to go away.

Great photos, everyone!

It must have been rather cold swimming in the river yesterday, as even though the temperature went well above freezing by afternoon, there was still a thin layer of ice on the river just out of shot.

DG and I had inspiration from the same source this morning. The sunrise a bit south of the one in his photo...

The road we live on after some rain - right there it is passable in 4WD but it makes a big mess of the road and your vehicle.

I love the variety of recent shots; well done everyone
Here are some English cousins of Spanishliz's mallards. The black headed gull, minus its black head as it's in winter plumage, looks a bit concerned but the mute swans seem more interested in the ducks swimming past.

Something a little different from me, an out-of-focus picture! No, actually this shows how much calculators have changed over the last 40 or 50 years. At the back is an old hand-cranked mechanical calculator & in front, it's modern equivalent. Quite a contrast I think you'll agree.

This is a view from Harrow on the Hill but too cloudy to see very far.

I like your sunrise better than mine Tredici. Good job.
bhs, I don't believe I'd eat that. It looks a little raw.
That's a nice shot, picqero. The gull looking at the ducks is classic.
London's always foggy like that, isn't it sat?

A snowblower complete with snow.

Al-Mohajerah , that is Japanese sushi. If you use a search engine you will find thousands of recipes. It is eaten all the time , all over the world, for snacks, lunch dinner etc etc.
Here we go with the topical. I went to a huge park in Shenzhen yesterday, which will be amazing when finished. Pretty amazing now. This is part of the entrance display. Santa it seems, even gets to China nowadays.

I haven't been out with the camera for a couple of days, so here's a long shot of the ducks from the other day. They're visible near the bank, and you can see the ice I was talking about.

It was crunchy shrimp roll (the shrimp were tempura cooked.

The other roll is eel.

We have a new Japanese restaurant here and everything I've had there so far has been really delicious.

As you can see from these frost covered leaves, it was pretty cold this morning!
