None, I go to a non-denominational church. It's just considered Christian.

If you ever get a chance you should go to St. Catherine’s at the tip of Sini. We had to get special permission since Sini was in Isreal's hands and I had an active Egyptian visa. It's different now.

Actually, I should add that in Christianity denomination is a better choice of terminology. Sect brings up the image of lunatic, fringe groups that usually come to bad ends at the bidding or hands of their "leaders"

Ahaaa, I got the difference, we have a lot of religious sects in my religon which act really a bad example for it, for sorry they act nothing of the real relgion under the name of it. Also we have no denominations, all are the same and under just one name.

Dawn, its a good note really, I see I have to talk a lot with you , I got a lot of important things : )

Also I am thankful that you could catch what I want to say though I use the wrong words and expresstions, and that is without misunderstand me,

I don't know if you saw this. My response was split between two pages.

I went there when I was young with my family, I was about 6 or 7 years old, so I cann`t remember how it was the St.Catherine`s monastery.

In the university, we just studied the place because as you see it has an important religious history for all.. Christians, Jews and Muslims.

I think it would be difficult for me now to go there by myself, it sould be a trip with the university or something alike, but we still have a lot of religious places we donot visit yet and we have to, may be this year or next year -ISHA-.

Why would it be hard to go to places in Cairo?

Sini is not in Cairo, it`s so far from where I live, I am a female, and its opposite to our customs and religon in my country for females to go to far places alone.

That`s it : )

I didn't mean St. Catherine's, I meant the places in Cairo. Such as the Synagogues.

May be you misunderstood me Dawn, it`s not hard to go to places in Cairo, but for Synagogues we aren`t welcome there, it`s difficult to get what we want, a big difference between Jewish and Christians we see.

That's a shame. With education comes more compassion and tolerance. I lived there while the peace talks were happening. Things have changed. I imagine security is tight with all that is happening in Gaza.

>>> You speak excellent Arabic!

Thank you for your Arabic welcome

.... and thanks too for your compliment on my rather basic Arabic
My Arabic is good enough to get by, and always brings a smile and greeting when I use it in Arab countries. Fortunately the conversations tend to follow the same lines - "where did you learn to speak Arabic", "what is your job". "have you a family", "how do you find our country", etc, etc. I must sound a lot more fluent than I really am, but it's fun to use this great language.
I especially enjoy the many Arabic greetings and replies; kaif haluq, hamdillah, ahlan, ahlan wasahlan, marhabah, marhabtain, salam aleekoom, aleekoom salam, sabah l'kair, sabah l'noor, masah l'kair, fee aman illah, etc, etc, etc
