Merry Christmas everyone!

High excitement here this morning when my son got a pogo stick from Santa. Oh man. I'll probably be taking him to the hospital this arvo. We're about to have pancakes for brekkie and then it's present opening time .... it will be the quickest breakfast ever, I think.

So I hope you are all or will be waking up to lots of fun and happiness.

Still Christmas Eve here and I am sat by the tree whilst babysitting as the parents are at the pub celebrating having survived the first year. His birthday is in under four hours as he was born before 1am last year.

So now it begins, we get to hear what Santa has brought to everyone.... I remember my pogo stick as a kid - I don't think I ever mastered it, but it was a great toy.

My son only wants an electric guitar for Christmas and I told him point-blank not to get his hopes up as that's the item my husband wants to be present for. He said "That's okay, if I don't get it for Christmas maybe I'll get it for my birthday". (B'day is next month) Again, I had to remind him that his dad won't be home then either. I've tried to instill the thought that he should be happy for the things he does get instead of focusing on what he didn't get.....Hope tomorrow's not a complete bust.

Copago - I am so glad Santa arrived in Austrailia - he must be on his way over here now!
Burggurl - I really hope you have a merry christmas with your family. It will be difficult without Mr Burggurl, but we all hope he'll be home safe and sound soon, and your son gets his guitar
Sue - HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Alex! Hugs from his Funtrivia family xxx

Did anyone else notice that Santa has been very quiet on FT this year? He must have had a very busy year.

Well I had a lovely suprise from Santa today. (He came, he came!!) I went to the post office to pick up a parcel from Australia and found it contained a beautiful set of coasters one of our talented Funtrivia members made for me.
Sadly I do not have her e.mail address to thank her personally so I will just have to do it publicly here.

THANKS YOU COPAGO, they are amazing and I will think of you everyday when I use them. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Since no one appears to be responding I will tell you what I received then you can carry on from here...

Gold, frankincense and myrrh for starters. Yes really. A lovely gift box which also contained a beautifully illustrated book about the gifts of the Magi. Also a keyfob and very pretty little bumblebee brooch.

Then a great calendar/notebook, very useful.

Parchment crafting tools from my daughter and a pattern book from my grandson with sufficient yarn to knit him a teddy from the marked pattern.

Some wonderful 'embossing folders' for my Cuttlebug machine - this will mean something to some 'crafty' people, and for those of you who have no idea as to what I mean, they are brilliant and very useful.

I also received teabags, chocolate and a pen plus other small crafting items such as paper.

I think that about does it, some gifts are 'still in the mail' and will arrive when they arrive.

I spent christmas in a trekking lodge in the Annapurnas in Nepal. We gave each other secret santas and got the porters drunk and dancing. A great christmas.
