Get away with you Jane, that first one isn't you, it is your plump sister!

You have done so well, you have every right to be extremely proud of yourself.

The vacation is probably going to be in Antarctica this time. That's the only continent I've never been to, and I've already got passage to Ushuaia covered. I just need to reserve a bunk aboard the Akademik Sergey Vavilov for their January sailing, which I will do the nanosecond the check clears.

He's officially finished the first draft, and I got to read the end! (the only bit I hadn't read). It is without a doubt one of the best endings I have read in a book, and I'm not just saying that because he's my boyfriend. It is sad, shocking, unexpected, but it fits the story very well. I don't believe anything else could've happened.

Now he's starting to work on the second draft, but the title is plaguing him. He cannot think of anything that fits.
I'm the only person who has read the whole thing (I feel special ^_^) so he's constantly bouncing ideas off of me. None of them really fit so far...they all sound way too cliched or over-dramatic.

Oh well...they will come in time.

Asgardshill, that trip sounds very exciting, wow! I look forward to hearing about your adventure there. Hopefully you may post some pics in the photo thread.

My high of the week is:
1) My wonderful neighbour offered to help me with my flat tire. He came over a few days ago and took it off, and put on the spare. Then yesterday we drove over in my car (I don't have a local license yet) to the gas station to get the flat fixed. The gas station had already quoted me $6 to repair it. However, when he asked the price (being a local) it was only $1. LOL.

2) The same neighbour also offered to help me obtain my license. To get a CR license if you have a valid out-of-country license is no problem. However, my Canadian license is now expired, meaning I should have to go to the capital, take a written test (in Spanish, yikes) and a road test. The driving in the capital is insane. We are going to go to the local office and see if we can't get it as if I had a valid license. Unlike Canada, where bribes are a definite no-no, a 'little something for your trouble' goes a long way here, and is an accepted part of the culture. This is something I cannot/would not do, as it is so against my own culture. However, my neighbour will talk to the fellow in the office, and see if he won't turn a blind eye to the expiry date, and issue me a new CR license. Here's hoping!

High of the day was getting the results of the CAT scan I had today. The tumours, there are two of them, in the liver and the tumour in the right kidney have all shrunk to varying degrees, some are halved. The results after ten lots of chemo treatment are good and the doctor will no doubt be pleased when he finds out. I believe he is thinking of adding another chemo drug but wanted to see how well I responded to the current ones I`m on so I`m looking forward to seeing what the new drug does.

Good news all round.

Correction, Mr. Roos. That's a little more than just "good" news. It's outstanding (and terrific) news!

The road to even more progress is surely in sight, yes ?

Thank you so much! And it is confirmed - I've got a berth in January for the trip. January is actually the warmest part of the year on the Antarctic Peninsula where I'll be going, so it might even be a degree or two above freezing when I get there. (I'm still taking my parka and hot water bottles ...)

Roos, sorry this sentiment is a little late (I was sicker than a dog last couple of days), but what wonderful news you shared! You are definitely heading in the right direction in your recovery. I'm sure your whole family is thrilled. Yippee!! xx
