Jane, that is just amazing! I know your life is much easier, and less painful. You are beautiful! Tell me how stones, and US pounds differ? I think I knew at one time, but it's left my mind!

The vacation is probably going to be in Antarctica this time. That's the only continent I've never been to, and I've already got passage to Ushuaia covered. I just need to reserve a bunk aboard the Akademik Sergey Vavilov for their January sailing, which I will do the nanosecond the check clears.

Asgardshill, that trip sounds very exciting, wow! I look forward to hearing about your adventure there. Hopefully you may post some pics in the photo thread. My high of the week is: 1) My wonderful neighbour offered to help me with my flat tire. He came over a few days ago and took it off, and put on the spare. Then yesterday we drove over in my car (I don't have a local license yet) to the gas station to get the flat fixed. The gas station had already quoted me $6 to repair it. However, when he asked the price (being a local) it was only $1. LOL. 2) The same neighbour also offered to help me obtain my license. To get a CR license if you have a valid out-of-country license is no problem. However, my Canadian license is now expired, meaning I should have to go to the capital, take a written test (in Spanish, yikes) and a road test. The driving in the capital is insane. We are going to go to the local office and see if we can't get it as if I had a valid license. Unlike Canada, where bribes are a definite no-no, a 'little something for your trouble' goes a long way here, and is an accepted part of the culture. This is something I cannot/would not do, as it is so against my own culture. However, my neighbour will talk to the fellow in the office, and see if he won't turn a blind eye to the expiry date, and issue me a new CR license. Here's hoping!

High of the day was getting the results of the CAT scan I had today. The tumours, there are two of them, in the liver and the tumour in the right kidney have all shrunk to varying degrees, some are halved. The results after ten lots of chemo treatment are good and the doctor will no doubt be pleased when he finds out. I believe he is thinking of adding another chemo drug but wanted to see how well I responded to the current ones I`m on so I`m looking forward to seeing what the new drug does.
Good news all round.

Correction, Mr. Roos. That's a little more than just "good" news. It's outstanding (and terrific) news! The road to even more progress is surely in sight, yes ?

Thank you so much! And it is confirmed - I've got a berth in January for the trip. January is actually the warmest part of the year on the Antarctic Peninsula where I'll be going, so it might even be a degree or two above freezing when I get there. (I'm still taking my parka and hot water bottles ...)
