MomOf2, I wonder if you tried lavender for your insomnia. A few drops of the oil on my pillow and I am gone!

For real, Ren? I never heard that before - but due to my present, intimate knowledge of every bump in every ceiling tile, it's worth a shot. Thanks for bringing it up.

Thanks Ren. Actually DH once bought some for my pillow but that was years ago. Will try it again although I suspect a sledgehammer is needed.

Wish I'd known it too lately had some sort of flu thing the last couple weeks and just couldn't sleep properly. Feeling better now and am back on track.

Low this week was Monday and Tuesday in school. My god it was hard work.

High was Thursday and Friday in school. What a wonderful job to be doing!

Kudos to Ren and any other teacher that stumbles across this post!!

Yes it is hard, I always feel the hardest is at the beginning of the year. Once you have a system in place it runs more smoothly and is not so exhausting. Like other jobs I suppose.
Primary teaching, especially 1st year or reception is the most tiring I think. They are fine once you have knocked the individualism out of them (kidding!)
My high this week is concerning the students I teach now. They found out it was my birthday last week and all collected to get me a simply beautiful pair of pearl earrings. Really posh, and most tasteful!
The low? 6 of them failed to give their homework in on time. How can I scold them after the earrings?!

Agreed with Copago. Kudos to all teachers - you guys are awesome.

What a nice birthday present Ren, if I do end up becoming a teacher I want students as sweet as yours.

Awww how sweet was that, Sara? Nope, you couldn't really get too cross with them over their homework

Glad to see you're getting back to your usual self, Copago. Kids, eh? Their cooperation can be the making or the breaking of your day. Honestly, I don't know how you have the discipline to do the home schooling! If I was home schooling mine and they had a bad school day, I think I'd find it hard not to be out of sorts with them during the 'out of school' hours! Still smoke free?

Home the insomia disappears soon, MomOf2! It's hard to have a bit of get-up-and-go when you've not had a good night's sleep

Highlight of my week was yesterday, when me and Mum went to the local theatre to see "Jospeh". It must be about the eighth time for us now, but it is a wonderful "feel good" musical.
Also, six years today, I joined Funtrivia (the quiz part of it!). Where else could I enjoy make quizzes and learning?

I don't think I said this before. I'm going to Phantom of the Opera in May.

Low I guess is that BF is going through a tough time with his family. He doesn't want to talk about it so I'm letting it go but it's really getting him down.

Low of the week? Lol I don`t think I`ll go there suffice to say that many Funtrivia members have gone through pain and know what it`s all about.

High of the week? A couple of days ago I was discussing the television series M.A.S.H with my brother and mentioned to him that one day I`ll make the investment of buying the complete series. My mum showed up this morning to take me to hospital (for my second last radiotherapy treatment!) and handed me a bag from my brother that contained a new boxed set of M.A.S.H. I was absolutely blown away at my brother David's thoughtfulness and generosity.

I`m currently working my way through the series from the beginning and enjoying every second of it!

Sara, that is so sweet of your kids, wow! You are obviously very special to them too.

Roos, good to hear from you and *yay* on the second to last radiation treatment! What a neat and thoughtful surprise from your brother. That ought to keep your mind diverted just a little from 'other things' for awhile.

I haven't dropped in here now for a week! Hope everyone is over their colds by now. Roos, glad to hear your treatment is almost over! Plays and presents seems to be abundant right I see, hope you are all enjoying them!

No real lows for me except I've been extremely tired lately... no biggie though. My high was just now when I read an email from my daughter. It seems she and a few girlfriends decided on a whim to go to New York City for a long weekend. They are staying in a hostel, and cramming into 4 days all the sightseeing by day and clubbing by night that they can.... and just generally taking a bite out of the Big Apple. That spontaneity is so like her - I love it!

Hang in there Roos, glad to hear your treatment is nearly over.
What a lovely gift from your brother and a great way to escape from worries for a while.

Hiya Roos ! As has been said already by many, 'tis mighty good to see you checking in. As you travel through your "M*A*S*H" marathon - I'd be curious to know if you'll agree with me that those earlier episodes (when that ace show was NOT so popular, and nearly even got cancelled ) were actually better than the later eps. Just my opinion, o' course. Hard to find a stinker episode of "M*A*S*H", though, beginning-to-end. Enjoy 'em .

And you keep on keeping on, yes? All the best to you.

Hang in there Roos; radiotherapy is tough but effective. You'll appreciate M.A.S.H. all the more by being able to watch a whole series - so enjoy

Low of the week was attending my Uncles memorial service. He was such a wonderful person and touched so many peoples lives, it feels like we all 'own' a piece of him.

High was seeing all my cousins, their spouses and children who we last saw 14 years ago. Shocking!

Life is just too short to waste. Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

I'm so excited!!! I've just had the most wonderful high! My sister has just phoned me to say she's expecting. She has two sweet little girls already (almost 5 and almost 6) and is expecting TWINS for the end of summer! It's early days, but I just had to share

Here's to hoping everything goes well for her!
