I am really blown away by the selection of songs.
First, almost all of them are on my "Earworms" play list of top favorites. But... (here's the kicker) for many of them, I have several versions in my library, since one song might be on an album of original material, agreatest hits album or two, and a soundtrack or anthology. Many of the specific tracks sleected aren't on any playlist I've created. SIX of the 24 tracks have no listens. NINE of the 24 tracks have no rating. So it's going beyond obvious clues as to what I like, but still coming up with an awesome list of personal favorites.
Second, there's a fairly wide range of styles and genres and eras included, reflecting my tastes. And yet when I look over this list, it feels like a coherent group of songs. I can't identify any song that seems out of place.
Third, while the list does include a fair number of megahits/signature songs, quite a few of the selections are not one of the best-known songs by that particular artist. And yet, they seems to pick out songs that I particularly like.
I am delighted with this new feature of iTunes. It also provides a list of recommended tunes you can buy from the iStore, and albums to check out. Anyone else play with this yet?
