Taken a couple of years ago at Cragside House in Northumberland, England.
The waterwheel, manufactured by William Armstrong, was used on one of his farms at Warton, near Thropton. It pumped drinking water to the farm, where it was stored in large water tanks.
After falling into disuse, the wheel was restored. It was installed at Cragside in 1997 to supply water to the formal gardens.
