I don`t spend that much time on the net these daze(sic) but one of the few sites I still find time for (apart from Funtrivia!) is Africam .

When I was still able to work I found the site to be a very relaxing place to visit after work and now I find it a great site to just chill out.

Viewing the African animals in real time going about their business is interesting and even finding no animals to view is relaxing for me with the sounds of birds audible and even just watching the water rippling as a breeze blows is nice.

Check it out out if you have time, you do have to register and send them your email addy but I`ve not received any annoying emails after having done so.

Anyone else got any interesting web cam links?

I signed up on that website and of course it was at night so I couldn't see anything. Then, this morning I decide to check it out again and find that the Elephant Plains cam was not available. So I click on Nkorho Pan cam and saw a nice waterhole and was enjoying listening to the birds when I had a start! A man's head popped up in the camera view and it took me a second to realize he was working on the camera as it looked like he put a new lens cover on. I can't see him anymore but he's still around because I hear clanking going on and voices in the far background. I look forward to seeing some animals later at the waterhole. I can tell by the birds chirping that I'm going to like this site. Thanks Roos, and I hope you're feeling better.

Thanks very much Ren and Sue !

Clarasue I`ve been a little frustrated that the site cameras have been down a lot lately but I still visit there at least twice a day to check things out.

I was there today looking and listening to the action around Nkorho Pan and whilst trying to peer at some birds a little more closely I was surprised by a rather large BANG that scared the birds away and sounded like a gun shot. A couple of seconds later a blokes head appeared in the camera view and he stood taking photos of the camera then drove off with the beat up vehicle clearly visible.

It`s all a matter of luck, and timing, when trying to see animals. The first time I showed the Nkorho pan camera to a friend there were a large number of Water Buffalo(or Wilderbeast) visable and she was hooked onto the site instantly.

Edited to add: My morphine dose has been tripled recently so I am feeling better, thanks.
