This picture isn't pretty, and it's a repeat, but ("Butt") this is the last day of Colon Cancer Awareness Month here in the US, and the prep for a colonoscopy, shown here, is A LOT easier than having colon cancer.
And (now picture me up on a soapbox yelling and waving my fist) don't for a minute assume this is a disease that only hits people over 50 years old, even though the public-service ads continually reinforce that notion. Of the 141,405 people in the US diagnosed in 2005 with CC, approximately 10% of those were in their 20s, 30s and 40s.
So if you are due for a colonoscopy, (or have any symptoms, risk factors or just a vague hunch that something's wrong back there) please, please, please make the appointment!
