SPOILERS

I was watching this week's episode, with all its twists and turns. Faraday killed by his younger mother? Finding out he's Widmore's kid too. Fascinating stuff.

One thing that struck me this week. I wonder if Desmond and Penny's son Charlie ends up being "our" Charlie from the plane crash when he was little. The time thing would be an issue, but it just seems too much of a coincidence. If so, that would make it much sadder that he drowned and not Desmond. Any thoughts?

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Wow! How many shows end their season with a nuclear explosion?

Well, now we've "seen" Jacob, although we are not much clearer on who or what he/it really is. Only that he/it can appear as human. And who or what is this other guy that looks human and impersonated Locke and wants Jacob dead? I knew we'd have more questions at the end of this season, but I was hoping for more answers .

We did get a few clues, sort of. The statue looked like the god Anubis - which has the head of a jackal - and the thing in its hand was an ankh. Also Egyptian. There's a picture on this page that shows Anubis holding an ankh - sorta similar to the statue:

Not sure about the whole four toes thing (shades of The Simpsons ). So we have a quasi-Egyptian statue of the god of the underworld and a bunch of people who speak Latin to each other. I don't know what to make of it. Atlantis maybe? Aliens? The Underworld?

What lies in the shadow of the statue?

Ille Qui Nos Omnes Servabit:

"He who will protect us all."

And who the heck is coming?

So what did people think of this season? I've really enjoyed the last half. Once they got back to the island, it was interesting again. The stuff on the mainland did not make me regret not saving copies of the show, but this last half ... I may have to buy the DVD.

Well we're about a month behind over here, so tonight we got the episode "The Variable". I always wait for the episodes to come on TV to watch them, I never watch them online, as many people do. But tonight, after watching "The Variable", I couldn't and didn't want to wait two more weeks for the season finale so I watched the last two episodes online.

SPOILERS!!!

Wow! The season finale blew me away! I was speechless for a few minutes So many things to take in. I think it was great that we finally got to see Jacob, even though we still don't know who he/it is. One of the things I love about this show is that the writers lead viewers to think one thing and then they "change" things so people will think something completely different (I hope that makes sense! )... Jacob is the perfect example. We were supposed to think he was 'bad', but is he really? Or maybe he is the good guy, and the evil character is the one that impersonated Locke.

I agree Ysmay, I was hoping for more answers too! But now there are sooo many questions: Why did Jacob visit Kate, Sawyer, Jack, Sayid, Locke and Hurley? Why does he never get old? (the same with Richard Alpert). And who is coming?!

And I guess Juliet is dead... but with Lost, we never know.

I've really enjoyed season five and I can't believe we have to wait so long for the final season! I can't wait to see how it all ends.
