I am hoping someone here can help me with this problem.

I need Adobe Flash Player to open this card I was sent but I can't seem to get it to work.

I have uninstalled it from my computer and then downloaded it again but it isn't working. I keep trying but no success.

Is there something or some place I can go to download it so it will work?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Hello PF - You may need to start again with the installation of Flash Player. To do that, it's best to first remove Flash Player using the proper uninstaller. Add/Remove doesn't do the job thoroughly enough. Here's a link to the uninstaller. When this is done, go here and re-install Flash Player.

What browser are you using?

Thanks Tellywellies,

I did as instructed and still no flash player.

I think it isn't in the cards for me to have that.

I don't know what browser I am using.

I know I should but I don't.

I can't tell you how many times I have installed and uninstalled this Flash player.

There has to be a way that will work for me. I am going gray fast.Haahaaha

If you haven't installed any other browser, you will be using Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer and go to 'Tools > Manage Add-ons'. Make sure you have 'Shockwave ActiveX Control' and 'Shockwave Flash Object' listed in the box that opens. Their status should be 'Enabled'. If all is well there, go to this page to test your Flash Player. You should see some animation.

I am convinced I am not suppose to have it.Haahaah

Sorry to be a Pain but it is making me determined to make it work or throw the pc out of the window.LOL LOL

You may not need the ActiveX one. I'd have to look into that a bit. Is the animation playing in the page linked to?

Edit: You don't need it.

Something else. Have you got JavaScript enabled? To enable JavaScript:

* Open Internet Explorer.
* Click on Tools.
* Select 'Internet Options'.
* Click the 'Security' tab.
* Click on the 'Custom level' button.
* Scroll down the list to the 'Scripting/Active Scripting' section (near the bottom).
* Click 'Enable'.
* Click OK and OK again.

OK I did what you suggested and still no luck.

I think it's jinxed or something.LOL LOL.

I don't know what else to do short of throwing the pc out the window.

I am sure it must have worked once upon a time?

In the Custom Level I have all marked as enabled. I wonder if I should only have certain ones enabled or prompt or diabled?

It's now 4 am my time so I think my brain has gone to sleep and I am headed there.

Hopefully later today everything will work out.

I can't think of anything further to add PF. It's sometimes difficult to help with problems without actually being there. Do you have anyone with a bit of computer knowledge living local to you?

I am using Firefox and having a sudden problem with Flash Player. Youtube videos no longer play for me. I followed youtube's instructions and did an uninstall and then re-installed - several times over. No luck. However, other flash vids (like Cows With Guns, on another video site) play just fine. No one else seems to be having a problem with youtube today, and this just started this morning when I downloaded the latest version of flash.

*Headdesk!*

Ditto for me, bionic, although I'm using IE. I downloaded the latest version of flash this morning, and now I can't play YouTubes. I get text saying "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player."

I should have left well alone.

Good news, I just did a System Restore, and it's fixed.

My daughter tells me that will return the computer to its factory-installed settings....? Oh well, I will be getting a new tower soon, as this one is about ready for a black drape and a bugle player.

It was a youtube issue - not my wonky computer - and they fixed it! Hooray! In the meantime, I have also discovered Hulu...!

No.. you have a choice of what date to reset it to. I chose the recommended one which was yesterday. It then restores your computer to the way it was on that date. My son was here last week and deleted some unused programs for me - those are still deleted.

If you are about to bury your computer, why not try restore? You can always undo the change if you so wish.
