Good Star Trek name there Y. One of my favourite characters as well. This is the park near me my auntie and uncle took their dogs from 1967 on and it hasn't changed at all. Sadly only my auntie has survived since then but she still lives in the same house there.

I love all the pictures of the kitties! And of course! Jadzia, like the character on Deep Space Nine, right? I agree with Satguru, that's a very good name. Can I post a picture of my kitty? Here is Kiarita, in the balcony:

Yes, minkpenny, she was named after Jadzia Dax on DS9 - one of my favorite characters. I also thought it was a pretty name and will allow her to 'hold her tail high' (if I may completely wreck a T.S. Eliot quote). Kiarita looks like she's in kitty heaven - all those trees and things to look at! I also love the kitty pics. Quote:

LOL, Sue!

So many nice photos of late. Love the rainbow, bhs! I am very excited to have seen and snapped this photo this morning. Out for a walk in the Desert Woodland park near my home, I saw an adult coyote keeping a close eye on me. She started making small barking/growling sounds, and looking around I noticed why: a couple of coyote pups were sunning in the bushes. This is Mama watching me closely! MomcoyoteI walked away to give her some space and peace of mind, and she followed me a good distance to make sure I was really leaving!

How lucky you were to get so close to a coyote cub and its mother djsgal, and even better to have got such great photos. I love the oleander too, and have even managed to grow one in the garden - no mean feat for England, though mine will be a couple of months before it flowers. I posted one of my garden statues in the weekly theme, and this is the other one. I'll be pressure washing it soon, and it will become almost white again! The pink blooms in front of it are rhododendrum.

Interesting question, Copago, because that exact thought crossed my mind as I was being followed by the mother! Actually they're pretty shy around people. When I turned and "confronted" her, she jumped quickly into the bushes to hide. But recently I've heard about coyotes going after little children. See article below. News about Coyotes

I actually felt very jealous when officer Dax married Worf, yes, I know it's only a TV programme... Picqero, that looks like Regent Street turning into Conduit Street. Once you've driven a van around London you forget very little, even after 25 years. You can't go wrong with taking cats, this is Spike who lives opposite, and probably the main reason he avoids me is as Lucy used to chase him and Kitty next door out of the garden. They don't forgive much.

The coyote pic is very cool! When I lived in California my ex used to go running in the hills with our German Shepherd. There was a lone coyote that used to join in the run. This happened numerous times. He/she was never aggressive.
