They are pelicans but I don't know which species.

Actually, just came to post that I found out. American White Pelicans. While the whole of interior North America can be on their migratory pattern, this isn't a usual stop off for them. Looking at photos, they have beautifully black-tipped wing feathers so I may have to go occupy a park bench and see if I can catch them in flight!

Beautiful pelicans. I've never seen them so far from the ocean.

Spring is springing here. On Thursday, it was gorgeous and all the trees took advantage.

I love this time of year.

We visited a vineyard in Connecticut this weekend. Too bad it was so cold. I'm sure it's much prettier later in the year when it's full of growth.

I haven't posted any photos of late but thought I would show you my 'Siamese' banana. I went to buy some bananas and much to my amazement found these two co-joined bananas so couldn't resist buying them.

I'd be tempted to liberally varnish them, preserving them as an ornament

Easneye Manor on the outskirts of nearby Stanstead Abbots is now the home of All Nations Bible college.
Easneye was built in the mid 19th century, and the land on which it stands was once part of the manor farm of Anne Boleyn, one of the more unfortunate wives of Henry VIII - she was beheaded in 1536!

Picqero, I've got a photo almost next to that one in Totteridge. I know it very well.

More spring trees. These are flowering along St Mark's Place in New York's East Village.

It's impossible to take pictures of St Marks without people, so I hope my blurring of faces meets the conditions of the site. If not, my apologies in advance.

I'm busy with my final exams right now so don't get to post as often but I've enjoyed all your photos.

A bright red postbox provides some colour against the drab background of London's Russell Square, before the tree leaves emerge.
It's an unusual postbox, dating from the reign of Edward VII who was king from 1901 - 1910, so is about 100 years old!

Aaaah! I tried to catch some at the weekend (with camera - not physically!) but they just scattered in different directions.

This is the Humber Bridge which I travel over fairly often. For 17 years, from 1981 to 1998, it was the longest single span suspension bridge in the world.

Great pictures everyone, and Russell Square is my single known toilet for my returns from long photo trips the other side of London. It's free to drive and park there after 6.30pm and has saved my life (ok underwear...) a number of times. Pardon that image.

Here is a very nice allotment in East Sheen, one of the very rare ones I've found without an 8 foot fence making photography very difficult.
