This article appeared in our local newspaper last night together with a photo of children giving a paper to our Health Minister as he arrived for our 'parliament' session this week. I won't provide the link as it will be gone in a couple of hours...
Naughty politicians told off
By Ben Quérée
STATES Members got a stern lesson in manners on Tuesday – from a group of six-year-olds.
Year 2 pupils from d’Auvergne School stood outside the States Chamber and handed out copies of their ‘Golden Rules’ to the politicians as they arrived for the sitting.
The children wrote a letter to the JEP on Saturday 21 March furiously protesting against this newspaper’s description of States Members’ conduct as like ‘a school playground’ on the front page of the edition on the previous Wednesday.
This morning, as the children waited outside the States Chamber to hand out copies of their rules to the arriving politicians, six-year-old Maisie said the children took time out of class to give their Golden Rules to the people that work at the States.

The Golden Rules
We listen
We are kind and helpful
We look after proerty
We work hard
We are gentle
We are honest
That works for me.
