I just watched her on a (very painful) dial-up connection. It was worth it! The expression on the judges' faces was priceless. What a talent!

Thanks, Tredici - I guess I'm not missing anything by missing "America's Got Talent". Isn't it great that we have the internet and YouTube and stuff so we can see such worthwhile things shared around the world?

I think Simon has perfected his look of surprise. Although they have a few 'open auditions', the majority of those people have filled in an application form, then if selected have sent in a video application. I am sure that Simon has seen the majority of those acts on video.

And yes, Susan was marvellous. I think the press and indeed Susan herself are doing down her appearance. I thought Simon's gentle flirting, in the matter of teasing a maiden aunty, was a bit ripe, considering he's a couple of years older than her!

I get goose bumps and teary eyed every time I watch this video. What a fabulous voice and good for her!

Tredici, the winner for America's Got Talent a few years ago was Terry Fator and his act was great! I saw him live and was amazed at what that man could do with his voice. You should check him out.

I've watched a couple of interviews Susan Boyle has done for British and American tv shows, and quite clearly someone is helping her with various things. She has new clothes, the perm has grown out (that show was recorded in January), and it looks as though the media are being managed properly - I'd guess Simon Cowell's company is responsible for that as he produces those shows and it's in his interest to protect the contestants. He certainly protected Faryl Smith, the 12 year old girl from my county who came fourth last year, even though in the end she signed for another record company. (For £2,300,000 - she's still only 13!)

It was on the news earlier that Susan Boyle has been invited to appear on Oprah Winfrey's show so I guess they'll arrange that for when she's made a CD - and by all accounts that won't be long, deals are being made whether she wins BGT or not. But I should like her to win, because apart from the money and the record deals, the prize for winning BGT is to perform in front of The Queen at the Royal Variety Show - and as Ms Boyle said herself "that would be something". It would indeed.

Yes, ysmay, there is America's Got Talent and David Hasselhoff is so creepy as a judge it's nearly unwatchable. And they let through the stupidest acts which would never last a heartbeat in a Vegas act. I've tried watching the show but it bores me to tears.

Hey, be assured that not all the acts on the British show are in the same class as Susan and Flawless; in fact some of them are simply appalling. On the same show as these, there was a guy, doing a 'dance' act, who claimed to be the next Fred Astaire. Throughout his act he stood with his feet apart, moving his hips from side to side, and his feet never moved at all. Simon Cowell told him his problem was that he wasn't dancing! Another appalling act was a woman, dressed as a red witch, trying to be either a conjurer or comedienne - not sure which
After the panel quickly dismissed her terrible act, she stood there pulling a nasty grimace, staring at them with what she presumably thought was the 'evil eye'.
Simon Cowell just waved her away, but Amanda Holden looked quite uncomfortable about this remarkable and tasteless display.

I saw it last night, and talk about an absolutely awesome singing voice.

I remember an old saying that goes, "Never judge a book by its cover."

ClaraSue,

I'm sure the winner is talented. And Terry Fater with the puppets is no exception.

I just have a hard time getting to the finale. Some of these people shouldn't even be given airtime let alone moved along. Of course I'm not a fan of the American Idol tryout episodes either. I'm more interested once they move along to the people with true talent.

Look up the CD she made for charity about ten years go of 'Cry Me a River'. It's pure magic!

I just listened to it and it's really great.

That's one of my all time favorite songs and I like Diana Krall's version but that's a little more overtly sexy. This one is just eerily good.

You know, Edith Piaf wasn't known for her looks...and what a voice she had and a soul. I think that's what this lady channels, a soulful otherwordly voice.

Wow, what a fabulous voice! When Paul Potts, from Britain's Got Talent a couple of years ago, put out a CD I bought it. When Susan's CD is released (surely there'll be one ) I'm definitely buying that one as well. The song 'Cry Me a River' was only one song she did on a CD with various other artists. Too bad the whole CD wasn't her.

I just listened to Susan's rendition of "Cry Me a River" (that she recorded 10 years ago!!) and I was again, blown away. When she made the recording, no one was 'taken' with her, or her voice... Go figure! This is all Simon's doing? Well, however it happens, Susan deserves recognition for such a fabulous voice!

wow, I've watched that 12 or 13 times over the last week. It is all so reminiscent of the Paul Potts audition, which I still watch .. 4 or 5 dozen at last count! Paul's best performance was in the semi-finals .. I hope she sings "Cry Me A River" for her semi-final performance; she'll blow them away.

She has a great voice, Yes.
But "Flawless" left me gasping!

Tonight we had another couple of really good performances, one was a ten year old girl, she started to dance not very well and was about to be buzzed off when she started to sing - excellent. Then we also had another dance team, fantastic.

This is 10 year old Holly Steele. It takes about a minute to get to her performance.

Jeesh ! How many more of these are you (lucky) Brits going to find this year? I've never seen such a string of brilliant, likable, heart-warming talents emerge so quickly in a row. Certainly not in America!

Check this fellow out !
