What songs can you think of that are associated with a sport or even a team?

"A World in Union" must be up there with the best songs ever to do with sport .. it was the theme for the Rugby Union world Cup.

"Simply the Best" which was a theme song for the NRL in the 80s.

I'm sure my Tigers team can't be the only Tigers team int he world to play "Eye of the Tiger"

"Being Here" which was a song by Graeme Connors as the theme for the Paralympics in 2000.

There's a million more out there - what songs remind you of a sport?

I am not a sports fan so I don't know much about it, but the only songs I will always relate to sports/sporting events are:

- "We've Got The Whole World In Our Hands" (new lyrics with an old popular tune - "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands") - Nottingham Forest F.C.

- "Time to Say Goodbye" (Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman) which instantly reminds me of figure skating and the amazing French dancers Marina Anissina and Gwendal Peizerat.

- The medley of "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" and "Jump in the Line (Shake Senora)" - Nadia Comaneci's floor exercise at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.

Every time I hear "Hells Bells," I think of former San Diego Padre closer Trevor Hoffmann.

Other songs that I associate with sports are "We Will Rock You" and "Another One Bites the Dust." The latter being played after a batter strikes out.

One from left left: I fought the Law [by Goodness knows who - I am not THAT old!].

Anyway, at British soccer games it used to be used as a chant. Say your team is Huddersfield Town and you were about to win. People woul;d chant:

"They fought the town
and the town won
They wanted to score goals
but got none"

etc.

I don't think it's just a Rockies thing, but they play Nickleback's "Burn it to the ground" at Coors Field before every game. I went to 3 games this year before I could remember enough of the song to look it up. Love it.

"We Are Family" was the theme song, and the motto of the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates.

Every time an opposing baseball player has struck out, they still play Steam's 1969 one-hit wonder "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye".

Ravel's 'Bolero' always reminds me of the Torvill and Dean ice-skating routine, and my AFL team's song is 'When the Saints Go Marching In', but 'Up There, Cazaly' is just a classic anthem.

'Sweet Georgia Brown' is a great bit of music- I saw the Globetrotters way back in the late 1970's and had a fun time.

When I hear the Troggs "Wild Thing" I can't help but think of the late '80's Cubs closer Mitch Williams.
