First of all, do not on any account go to the middle of St Helier on a busy Saturday and try to take a photo. This is a warning. Last time she grabbed a poor strange guy who was having a sit down, and snuggled up for the photo. I said: "Ooh , who's your handsome friend?" She said: "Never saw him before in my life!" Honestly! I had led a quiet sheltered life before I had my eyes opened by shocking events like this. Seriously, go to Shopmobility. You can have motorised wheelchair races around the carpark, as she works for them voluntarily. But watch her as she tries to alter the speed thingie so she wins. Go to the Zoo, the castle(s) and look at the views, they are breathtaking, and I don't mean views of poor old guys on benches in shopping centres (well that too). She will feed you well and the bed is a dream. She will find out your favourite things and get them for you, ( though not, unfortunately, poor old guys on benches.) She will take you to all sorts of great places like the Poundsaver shop and M and S. I mean it Mada you will have a ball and a huge laugh. I wish I were going too.

We don't do 'people' photos any more but we can put some photos in a PhotoBucket account and give the link. There are various parts of the island (and France) that we must visit, for instance: Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust The Marilyn Monroe exhibition - the largest collection of MM memorabilia in the world Big Vern's - Sara's favourite eating place here St Malo in France Hector's Fish and chip shop Mont Orgueil Castle Elizabeth Castle Then, and I haven't told her yet, it is the ShopMobility street collection/flag days on the second Friday and Saturday of her stay - I wonder if she fancies shaking a collection tin! The first weekend will be slightly odd too, it is Liberation Day on the Saturday and that means that virtually all shops, barring a few, will be closed.

What a pity we can't get someone to video your trip and sell it to youtube. Hope you both have a wonderful time.

Oh my! I feel so ashamed for not noticing this thread until now . I've been very scarce on FT lately and also, my mind is already looking out the window of the airplane (so it's not where it should be). I have no words to tell you how happy and thrilled and extremely excited I am knowing that in 3 weeks time I'll be meeting Sue eye to eye. WOW! I am so grateful to her for having me visit and for making so many wonderful plans to entertain me. The main things I'm dying to see are the Corbiere Lighthouse and the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. The Marilyn Monroe Exhibition is such a bonus! I am a bit sorry it's not the right time of the year for the lavender fields to be in bloom but I will want to see them anyway. Real Fish and Chips...so yummy! The last I had some was 4 years ago and I'm looking forward to that. And to the generous supplies of shortbread that I know Sue has already piled up for me . She is such a sweet and extremely thoughtful friend. A very major point of my visit is crafting with Sue. We both share the same passion for (hand)making cards. It was she who dragged me into it and who's always 'feeding' me with awesome materials and tools. In fact, the more I think about it the more I'm sure that a large amount of time will be spent on crafting and we'll probably skip a few of the 'attractions' we initially had in mind. Quote:
Then, and I haven't told her yet, it is the ShopMobility street collection/flag days on the second Friday and Saturday of her stay - I wonder if she fancies shaking a collection tin!
I'd be HONOURED to! Can't wait to see the ShopMobility stuff and staff. I honestly thank you for the opportunity.
Sara and Jill - you DO know that one of my biggest dreams is for us all to be in the same place at the same time. I so wish you were there too. Sue, Sara, Jill, Bonnie and Gats. My dream-team!
ClaraSue - I am hoping to take tons of photos everywhere. Not too many featuring me tho', we don't want to spoil the scenery or blind anybody. And if Sue takes ANY photo of me while I'm sleeping and makes it public without my consent, she's going to face the terrible 'Wrath of Mada' .
Lady1 - We are going to have a fantastic time, I'm sure of it. Thank you for good wishes and who knows, maybe we'll make a video too.

Now as if I would even dream of taking photos of my visitors when they are sleeping, especially when snoring loudly! I tell a lie about snoring, I am the snorer, not Sara. I think I might have gone over the top with the shortbreads, I just looked in the larder and see that there are ten normal sized packets, three smaller ones and then a large box of assorted chocolate biscuits - as I am diabetic you need to eat a packet of biscuits each day! Still, you can nibble them with your decaf. Crafting with you will be fun, I have cleared the end of my table so you will have somewhere to work.

The more I hear what fun you two are going to have, the more I wish I was with you! It sounds as if it will be a fantastic holiday Denni!

Oh mine too, and Eric Clapton. Mada watch her, she tells awful porkies. She took a ghastly photo of me asleep on the sofa after Christmas lunch. She knows better than to display it though or she would get the "Ren". Oh my word, I so so wish I was packing to come over again. Have a bacon butty at Big Vern's for me, and kiss a Frenchman. Jane watch out, I shall come and see you next time I come over!Probably kidnap that William.

Can anyone imagine Ren and Sue together? This would be equivalent to Laurel and Hardy. Add Denni to the mix, and you have the Three Stooges!

Haahaahah Mada you are in for one trip of a lifetime. I wish I was there also. I have had Sara visit twice and oh the fun and laughter and food we had.I am praying she will come back for a third visit. I know that Sue will treat you like Royalty so enjoy it all. Just don't get arrested or we will have to take up a collection to bail you both out. Haahaahaah! Who knows you may end up on the front page of the paper. I can't wait to hear the Minute by Minute reports and view the pictures. I shall be glued to my seat waiting. PF P.S I Love Garlic Prawns so have a few for me ok.

See? It hasn't even begun yet and both Sue and Sara are all fired up already! If the town was smart, they'd close up all the craft shops for a week, turn out all the lights at 8:00pm every night, and establish a curfew for the safety of everyone. What a trio on the loose!

Would that it were! No, only a duo, I am not going this time, but I shall be monitoring the situation from a distance and leaping to Mada's defence if she gets bullied.
