I've never seen a blue one either, especially next to another one. And if the stamp machine works it's a miracle, we had one till recently but don't ever remember them putting stamps in it.

Here is a peony from our back yard. It has since opened but before I could get a picture of it, the blossom wilted. Did I tell you this isn't the best zone for flowers and such?

PDAZ, those little guys believe if they remain still you can't see them. Seems to work with canines. I've seen bunnies freeze in my yard and the two dogs remain blissfully unaware of them. It's like they have a cloaking device.

For all our men and women serving in the Armed Forces and their families, give a good thought to our vets on Memorial Day.

There aren't any Veteran cemetaries near me today, so in honor of our fallen heroes, I'm reposting a photo I took at a Veteran Memorial Cemetary last year. The sprinklers came on while I was taking photos that day.

A common wild plant around here is the biennial teasel
It has a number of traditional medicinal uses, and once was used to 'tease' wool before spinning. It's also popular for dried flower displays.

More suburban houses. Modern actually refers to a style of architecture rather than an era and began in the late 1890s. British builders have shunned anything remotely modern for around 20 years so this development recently finished in Richmond is incredibly rare since then.

This peony is very happy in it's position in our garden (mostly shade). Lots of flowers on the plant. We have a couple of other peony plants but they don't grow so well as this one.

It's a VERY late spring here in Alberta (we had several inches of snow in the last two weeks). However, SOME things are struggling to bloom, such as the greengage plum trees. Here's a first blossom, along with a shy spider on the left and a bumblebee on the right
