This is a link to a story that is tragic. He is a member of the Albuquerque, NM. community and now he is gone. His tiny body was discovered in an Albuquerque park. No family reported him missing at all, not his mother, the confessed murder, not the grandmother not anyone else friend or family. With no dental records to match, no family to compare DNA, and no missing person reports, the community and our police did not rest till we knew. I am trying to collect one post for every day of this three year old life. Sue943 said I could add a link to my blog where I am collect a "posting memorial" but here is the news story link instead. The rest can be viewed by searching my profile.

His name is Ty. He was three. He played and lived near the same Alvarado Park. From his t-shirt it appears he liked monster trucks. He was cute. He is missed.

Thank you for your concern. Thank you, Sue943.

I consider Albuquerque "home" even though I live elsewhere for the time being. I try to keep up with the local news and was so sad to read this story about Ty.

Albuquerque has a population of approximately 500,000 people yet has a small town attitude when it comes to children and pulling together for a cause. The outpouring of love and sadness over a child that so few knew is heartwarming. If only his mother knew that so many people would have been happy to keep this little boy safe from harm and loved him. How I love this city's inhabitants.

This is so tragic and heartbreaking. The poor little guy.

I wish we had better mechanisms in our society to mobilize peoples' concern and compassion before tragedies like this happen. If someone could have identified and helped this woman and her baby beforehand, the outcome could have been very different. The mother's marginalization through poverty and, possibly, mental illness created a situation which blinded her to help that might have been there. I don't know the solution - maybe this is a situation that "safety nets" need to be there for.

I don't know this woman's story, but from the article we know that she was homeless, had worn out her welcome with friends or family and felt unwanted and isolated. It's easy to forget that by helping people in such situations, we are helping their children - who are ultimately the most vulnerable to their parents' problems and choices.

God bless his little soul. He deserved better than this.

Y
