81st Wedding Anniversary!

Isn't that sweet.
I can't imagine being married 81 yrs.
I am amazed we made it to our 25th in August.
They are a cute couple.

What an amazing couple! I have close friends who have celebrated their 75th anniversary. They are both in their nineties and still mentally sharp. What a blessing.

They seem very sharp. You can certainly tell they're best friends! She hears better than he...Probably always has!

What a lovely story! 81 years together is amazing

Way back before my kids were born I helped at a day care centre for the elderly and one week we had a celebration for a couple who were celebrating 76 years of marriage. We decorated the centre, got gifts for the 'happy couple' etc. The woman who ran the centre was talking to the woman and said "How wonderful to have been married for 76 years" to which the old lady replied "Humph, 75 years too long!".

I think she meant it too, in those days in Jersey when you got married I don't think women could divorce their husbands.
