I was wondering where the expression to get "nutmegged" as a sporting term comes from. It refers to getting the ball, particularly a soccer ball, put passed you by going between your legs.
Occcured to me that it seems a strange phrase. Does anyone know?

I always thought it was cockney rhyming slang for legs, nutmegs, (geddit?)I can't think of any other explanation.
