Just a question regarding this...How often does the Question Quest challenge update please, as it doesn't always correspond with the contributions rated.

It varies bubba, I've had some go through literally in seconds, and one languishing for a week now, all alone (all together now awwwwww poor ickle question )
It just depends how many are in the queue already for that category.
I see a new note on the page now mentions several categories with the longest queues, and says how many questions are in them, that might give you an idea.
