Well, this season has had the talent so it's really seemed to be "luck of the choreography" draw. I don't know. Just seems silly to have one couple doing a jive to a country song while the other gets the Paso including dramatic lighting and tense music. Sure seems like Brandon and Janine got the benefit of the showcasing tonight. But I've noticed American Idol has the tendancy to promote their top candidates with the same type of thing and both shows are produced by the same people.

I really could make a case for each of the four, and thought before the show even began the winner would be Janine. Now I wonder if they didn't jinx her. The public has pushed back before if they think someone is being slighted and if that happens, then it's Evan. I do think Nigel probably swung a few votes his way by beating up on a puppy.

I'll be surprised if Brandon or Kayla take the title.

Really thought it would come down to Brandon or Janine. I'm glad Janine won it though...she was my favorite dancer this season (and no, not just because she is amazingly gorgeous). Her solo in the finale was outstanding.

I wish they would have blamed the choreography for the duo of Brandon and Evan. I mean, all season long you have a dancer in Evan that just isn't "mean, dirty" or whatever adjective you want to use. And you create a number where that's required of him...and in the finale no less?? That made no sense to me.

Anyway, can't wait for fall. The previews they are showing show a LOT of pretty good dancers it seems.

No problem with Janine here, either. Seems like it's harder for a girl to win these titles. (Might have something to do with the voting demographics). This show is really picking up steam though. Idol seems to be winding down and this one is getting stronger. Each cycle the talent seems to get more instead of less.

The only thing they do have to fix is making the choreography a bit more fair. I know it's pull it out of a hat but even that can put some people at a seemingly constant disadvantage. Thankfully I think they've learned a lesson by experimenting with something as non-competitive as Russian Folk Dancing.

I'm not sure about leaving people coupled up for the first four or five shows either. Makes it tough if one is much more capable than the other. Even though you don't vote as couples, that is how the choreography is remembered.

But I love the show. Supposedly Paula Abdul isn't returning to Idol. Wonder if we will see her guesting on SYTYCD? Which seems a better fit for her anyway.

I don't think we'll see that folk dancing again. lol. Nigel knows he and his other producers made a mistake with that one. I was disappointed that Lil C didn't choreograph a routine this year. I liked his work last season. Hopefully he does a couple this fall.

If Paula ends up on SYTYCD, I hope she only choreographs and doesn't actually speak. I'm glad she's gone from Idol...it was painful to try and decipher what she was saying. lol
