Yummmmm, my neighbour gave me 4 tamales earlier today. I'm having two for dinner, and the other 2 for lunch tomorrow. I love tamales, but have never made them, they seem like so much work!

I've never had tamales, but I surely would like to try them! Tonight we had stuffed artichokes with a side of potatoes, bacon cubes and broad beans. It was sooo good!

Salad of baby greens with roast garlic vinaigrette dressing - and maybe a little minced garlic on top!

I just got some superb knives that I purchased from a friend of my son's who's selling them as his first job. It inspired me to chop just about everything in sight! The spaghetti sauce was wonderful as I have lots of fresh herbs on hand at the moment. I then made a fruit salad with every piece of fruit left!
You could call everything I made just now a real macedoine.

Weirdly enough, I've cooked myself into a spin the last two days...seared pot roast and potatoes for ten yesterday. Tonight it was chicken enchiladas with chopped cilantro and white basil sauce...again, for ten or so. And since it was taken across town, all we've got in the house right now is spaghettios and so forth.

Who mentioned strawberry pavlovas and whipped cream??? Rice salad with palm hearts and pine nuts tonight, maybe a little tuna to round it out. Still tucking in to lettuce and tomato salad almost every day here too, but did have a veal stew with baby carrots and garden peas on Sunday. This thread is a mine of great ideas for evening meals - I'll have to get in the habit of reading it before doing my weekly shop

massive amounts of pinto beans, cornbread and potato salad with pimento peppers. I managed to snatch a spoonful as it went out the front door. [ I'm cooking here lately for my friend Mike's father and whoever else comes in and out while their mother's in the hospital ]

I am making stuffed burgers. Two thin ground beef patties with whatever you like sealed in between. Mine have hot sauce, garlic juice and cheese.

Char-grilled and marinaded bell papers, followed by tuna salad, artichoke hearts and rice.
Hmm, what shall I cook tonight?

Still cooking for the masses. Chicken and rice, some parker house rolls, frozen green peas, probably. I keep thinking that folks from southern California would prefer something a little jazzier...but I was wrong. Possibly at a time like this they need comfort food instead of Cobb salad and sushi.

I'm off work tonight so I'm thinking either burritos or deli sandwiches. I usually cook at home when I have to work, if only because it disturbs people to hear I'm making pork chops and mashed potatoes at 9am. Probably ribs tomorrow, I still have a lot of those in the freezer that need used. Put on the grill with a little seasoning, sweet corn and fresh fruit.

I must say that this thread is great! It's very interesting to see what people from all over the world have for dinner Last night we had turkey patties with rice and arugula and cherry tomato salad.
