That's an interesting menu Sue..

For dinner tonight I had Thai chili fishcakes with a heap of salad, rather delicious. My daughter had macaroni cheese.

I fired up the barbeque and threw on a homemade patty (no bun) and some herbed potatoes and onions, diced. Half a charred red pepper, and steamed green beans rounded it out.. it's just about ready to eat.

Not for dinner tonight but a recent dinner I had. I went 4 days without eating and my first meal was a simple one, just a potato and bacon soup. The pieces of potato were a nice chunky size and the bacon was almost of melt in your mouth consistency and it tasted like the finest meal I have ever eaten, I was in absolute heaven and the large bowl probably got wolfed down in less than two minutes!

I`m not normally a fan of soup (though when camping soup is an essential part of my diet simply because it`s just so easy to prepare) but when I got home I asked my wife to race out and buy me half a dozen cans of chunky potato soup. Now whilst I have been enjoying these other soups I can still taste the first one I had in hospital and can still recall the feeling of absolute bliss I felt while eating this simple meal. YUM!

Simple pleasures, eh, 'roos? Glad you enjoyed your first 'real' meal so much

Buckwheat pancakes here, topped with ham, cheese, egg, onion ... whatever's handy. A little knob of melted butter on each ... yumm!
